Grendel it is not about you or your little one.....and it is not really about CIs here either, it is about an attitude, JDN is insulting his own. Now who is attacking d/Deaf? - read post #110 and #107. Have you read any of JDN's posts in other threads? Perhaps you should do your homework first? JS.

Besides to inject a bit of humor into this......there IS one sitution where HA/CI/ALDs wouldn't be all that helpful.....picture this " Oh John.....Oh Marsha! " What? Huh? " :giggle:

You are full of misunderstand. You twisted my posts.

Very good point, and one that oral only people seem to shy away from. I do agree with you. I love my hearing aids and am glad I can interact with the hearing world. But at the same time, if they break or if I lose them or if I'm in a non one on one sitution, I'm lost. That is true for CI kids who only have oral only abilty.
I would love it, if there was a new track for hoh kids in school. It does seem like most hoh kids do well early on, but then start having issues.
Why not have a formal program for hoh (both HA and CI)kids to learn ASL as a second language around third grade? Like an outreach/short term(like the way blind schools offer short term programs) program at the Deaf School?

What's your solution to the 5th grade reading level for the D/deaf? It seems to be very wide spread, and guess where majority of the students are?

Mainstream!

Idk, I seem to have high reading skills... oh right I just took recent testing a about 6 months ago (required for everyone with disabilities to take) and scored 10.1 grade reading level. It all depends on the person and how quickly they can learn English. Everyones different

You're a case study. Just like I am. :)

You are young, we are wise citzens. (not me, though, I'm australian)
but we understand better - I agree with PFH unfortunately. You've been a troll since you came back.

You are mistaken. I never troll. read my threads. None of them are troll.

Of course. I am sure they did not even tell you about the Milan conference leading to the bastardization of education for the Deaf and how that leads up to us this day... :)

It's important to know one's history.

And it's also important to be humble, not an "all knowing" teenager, too.

And those same old attitudes from the Milan Conferrence are still alive and well today, unfortunately.

Hey! No swearing. Sadly, I even don't know what troll mean.
