Hurricane Hanna

:ty: I was getting lost in the threads!

Oh haha, I apologize for your utter confusion in this thread. I merged both threads because it consist the same issue which is - Hurricane Hanna. :)

You're welcome.

It never ends, does it?

Nope.

At least it won't be another Andrew, but the track doesn't make me feel very good. We still haven't made a decision yet about what we will do, but if the projected path suggests even slightly that it will hit closer to me, we're outta here!

We won't know what we're doing until later this weekend.

I don't remember hurricanes hitting MD even when I was living there! Stay safe, SC/NC/GA/MD/DC/VA folks.

I am keeping a wary eye on Ike..

:ugh: at those people who are saying that it is no big deal with a hurricane or tropical storm coming up. I would love to put these heartless and thoughtless people in Ike's path right now and then they will see for themselves what it is really like. I know what it is like because I went through a Cat 5 hurricane myself!

It's not out the rhealm. Hurricane Irene affected Va in 1999. We also had tropical storm warnings when I still lived there. I was born and raised in MD, but moved to FL in 1998.

Hurricane Isabelle hit us in 2003...flooded Baltimore, DC and Annapolis. Schools were closed for a week due to all the power outages. That was the last hurricane to hit us hard.

Charleston is at OPCON 1 now. Tropical storm warning, hurricane watch. Schools will be closed tomorrow. Some shelters will open.

Hugo was a direct hit on Charleston. Hanna seems to be heading further north.

Ike might be more serious. Don't know yet.

Oh yup, I remember about Hugo, that's very horrible hurricane.

Now, you are more lucky than just sorry since hurricane Hanna is path to NC, I think so.

How long about all of Charleston is recovered after Hugo?

Yea, Ike will either hit u or hit us (Reba more than me). That is one monster storm now...scary! I am not scared of Hanna ..just only concerned with my basement getting flooded but other than that, not scared for my life but Ike is another story.

I hope all you east coast people are ok and nothing bad happens to you from the storm.

Yeah. Hanna's just gonna make things very wet. It's really probably not gonna be much of a big deal. But, Ike... Oh lord.

Ugh! I love living where I do for six months out of the year. But the six mos that encompasses the hurricane season, bites!

Oh, that's right! I forgot about Isabelle.

ahh i dont remmy about hitting md by hurricane in 03! i must be forgot! oppss i guess i was focus on job and lsu sport (opps hehe!) oh well..anyway yes all hurricanes are just a serious storm.. but as for me if it is CAT 1 then i can stay as long as dont go near by the window.. if it is CAT 2, goodbye i go out to somewhere as it safe place.. simple..

someone saying about surfing to hanna storm.. .... mmm to me, i dont think it safe but can stay on the beach when it is something warning on news.. thing like that.. or can ask them expert about safety.. just little taste of that beach when it warning.. then zoom out.. simple.. just get idea.. then go out.. that would be fine for me.. i wont stay and let storm pass me! or over me! yikes i would fly out! whoa!

Hope the southeastern coast residents will be ok thru that disaster.

I remember HUGO very vividly, it actually help my obcession begin with hurricanes, tornadoes, meteorology, and storm chasing. Its cheesy, but I would draw my own pictures of Hugo, then update my 6th grade class about the weather and storm.
