We just got issued with a tropical storm/hurricane watch/warning here (Eastern MD) for Saturday. Going to have to stock up tonight and tmw and prepare.
Winds are expected to be around 60 mph and up to 6 inches of rain are expected here. Hope no power outages nor any flooding since I live 2 miles away from Chesapeake Bay and high tide of up to 5 feet are expected. The winds arent our biggest concern..the flooding is...
VA just declared a state of emergency...O'Mallary is considering doing the same for MD but has to see how strong Hanna gets tmw...expected to reach hurricane strength tmw.
Charleston is at OPCON 1 now. Tropical storm warning, hurricane watch. Schools will be closed tomorrow. Some shelters will open.
Hugo was a direct hit on Charleston. Hanna seems to be heading further north.
Ike might be more serious. Don't know yet.
