Hurricane Hanna

Yeah, that might be a bad one.

The latest advisory just came out. It's forecasted to hit "somewhere" in S FL as a Cat 3 storm. If it hits Miami, then we'll be OK where I am. If it hits further S., we're in serious trouble.

FLA are known for storms. I'm not surprised at all, but I'm surprise that people are staying in FLA and Louisana after what happened.

It's a warning, get away from East, go to West.

West, to wildfires and earthquakes, and high cost of living. Yeah, right. Besides, do all the Westerners want a hoard of South-easterners invading their space?

The owners of many rental places do.

Ok ok ok, how bout Lake Tahoe? No threat there.

Maybe it doesn't make it right but maybe now (took ya long enough) you just might see why I made the crude suggestion without actually offending those who live in those danger spots.

Charleston is at OPCON 1 now. Tropical storm warning, hurricane watch. Schools will be closed tomorrow. Some shelters will open.

Hugo was a direct hit on Charleston. Hanna seems to be heading further north.

Ike might be more serious. Don't know yet.

We just got issued with a tropical storm/hurricane watch/warning here (Eastern MD) for Saturday. Going to have to stock up tonight and tmw and prepare.

Winds are expected to be around 60 mph and up to 6 inches of rain are expected here. Hope no power outages nor any flooding since I live 2 miles away from Chesapeake Bay and high tide of up to 5 feet are expected. The winds arent our biggest concern..the flooding is...

VA just declared a state of emergency...O'Mallary is considering doing the same for MD but has to see how strong Hanna gets tmw...expected to reach hurricane strength tmw.

Take this seriously, Shel. Stock up and stay safe!

I'll be thinking of you. :)

They are now saying that Ike is going to threaten S. FL; probably as a Cat 3 hurricane. *sigh*

I think I heard there will have four or five hurricanes. I'm not sure.. I just saw on news tv a few days ago...
