I also thought it was very creative how the writers claimed the boy in that episode used to "see" and play video games in his head. What's interesting about that is people with bipolar are known to be highly creative and intelligent. If that ever happened in real life, it wouldn't surprise me. I thought it was a great way to link bipolar and creativity together. IMO, the writers on Mental and House are brilliant!

Are you watching the show with captions or can you understand the dialogue well enough with your hearing aids? Even with my CIs, I have some difficulty understanding Dr. Jack because of his accent.

Becky is his twin sister who ran away and has schizophrenia. She has been trying to reach out to Dr. Jack by calling him on pay phones so she can't be tracked easily. Instead of talking to him, she breathes into the phone.

it has CC. When I lip-read him and hear his pronunciations along with CC... I knew right off the bat that he's a Brit.

How do you enable CC? I have a friend who is sighted and moderately hard of hearing. She comes over from time to time and we enjoy watching videos and TV programs online. I'd like to enable CC the next time she comes over because she enjoys Mental as much as I do.

when you load Mental in hulu.com - there's this small box at bottom of the viewing box on right side saying "CC"

simply click on it and then click on ENGLISH. viola!

Awesome! I didn't even know they had CC available, so I'm glad you mentioned this. Now I can make sure my friend can enjoy videos on hulu as much as I do. :ty: again! :cool2:

not all shows in hulu.com is available in CC but i'm not complaining. I'm just glad that interesting shows have CC such as 24 (jack bauer show), mental, dr. house, etc.

I believe you can watch Mental on the Fox website. Let me do a Google search and see if I can find it. Otherwise you might be able to locate another website where you can watch it by doing a Google search for "watch Mental online."

nope you cannot watch it. hulu.com is limited to only America. A workaround to this is using proxy server.
 
Sadly nope, not even to buy it. Even tried Amazon.co.uk to buy it... list of mentalhealth books/dvds, I guess i would have to wait until it comes out in UK.... Could be in for a long wait!

On Amazon.com (US site) says i have to be in America to view it! oh well never mind...

I'm real sad today. Its carried over since yesterday. You ever have someone that has been in your life that you always seem to cross paths some how and you have weird coincidences and you think about those people all the time. No matter what the falling out was they call on your birthday every year, and then one day you don't hear from them? 3 years ago I got into a fight with my friend/ex boyfriend. Probably the only person in the world that I would have married on the spot if life allowed us to be together at certain times.. I loved him dearly. He would have never not called on my birthday. I searched for him on facebook, myspace cause his number wasnt his anymore and it was weird he didnt give it to me. He had had the same cell phone number since I had known him. We were so connected on so many levels and had an argument over something I don't even remember. I never thought to google him till yesterday. His obituary popped up first, he died the day before my birthday in 2006 :( Ive been a mess about it all day and yesterday. I have missed him over the last 3 years and its even worse knowing why he hasn't called. Its been 3 years and I had no clue and its hard to swallow. He was from Texas and I really didnt know his family and only a couple of his friends but I didn't know any of their last names..

Its a sad day.. Now I am playing the waiting game because I emailed his sister.. :(
 
I am sorry Candybrowneyes...life can be so unfair sometimes. Today is the birthday of one girl whom I knew but wasnt close to who died almost 2 years ago. She was only 32 years old and would have been 34 today. Several of her friends are also my friends and I was just thinking that I wish I had made an effort to get to know her better whenever we bumped into each other cuz she seemed like such a great person to have as a friend.

Feeling blah and don't wanna go work, but gotta do to make a living. My arm hurts from doing that job for a long time, especially my joints feel sore. I can't have my arms up behind me when I'm laying down or I would feel really sore and barely would be able to move my arm. Looks like I might probably have to claim a work related injury request again.
