Hernandez--Guilty

Here is another story, named Scott Wade Smith of westmoreland county, PA. He used public defender for raping 5 months old girl... yes u read it right 5 months old... not years... anyway he got only 10 years sentence. Wtf is wrong with this? He deserves life imprisonment!

Public defender does not necessarily means they are crappy, sometimes its still better than private one.

if he had an expensive lawyer.. it would be 3 years or something like that. or worse.

life imprisonment? no. a death penalty.

Another one I think in Minnesota, creep used public defender for sex with minors when he was coach at high school. He could have gotten away with only 30 days in jail, but thank god for the public outcry, that sentence was overturned and he end up got longer sentence... again its public defender that did fantastic job for this scumbag.

It wasn't the public defender who did a good job... it was the judge who did a poor job to appropriate the punishment. this judge should be disbarred.

A Montana high school teacher who was sentenced to just 30 days in jail for raping a 14-year-old student was under-sentenced, the Montana State Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.

The state's Supreme Court said a district judge miscalculated Stacey Dean Rambold's punishment and criticized the judge for suggesting the 14-year-old girl was partially to blame, the Billings Gazette reported.

In August, Judge Todd Baugh sentenced Rambold to 31 days behind bars, minus one for time served, after the ex-teacher was convicted of raping Cherice Moralez, a freshman student who later killed herself.

In his ruling, the judge said Moralez was "as much in control of the situation" as her teacher.

Following Moralez's death, prosecutors stuck a deal with Rambold: They'd dismiss charges if he went through three years in a sex offender treatment program.

But Rambold was kicked out of the program a few months later for having unsupervised visits with minors and missing meetings.

That's when Rambold went back to court, where Baugh delivered the short sentence. Prosecution wanted a sentence up to 20 years in jail, but the judge stated that Rambold's termination from the treatment program did not deserve such a harsh punishment.

The case will now head to a new judge for a new ruling.

very questionable choice of friends you have... but it's your life.

so you're telling me that what you've learned is that a public defender is better than a private lawyer.

ok. that's it. a valuable lesson learned.

Did I ever say that its always better use public Defender? Show me where I said that? The phrase I said, sometimes public defender can be better than private... means every time? Maybe you need to take reading classes. Or need new glasses.

There are different kinds of friends. None of my best friend or close friend has felony on record. Regular friends, those that I know... yes, they have felony on their record. They served their time, so i can't use against them but being decent friend with them? Nope.

Does not matter, you missed my point. I am sure there are many cases with poor sentencing or those who got away with due to decent public defender they got... its up to public to keep quiet or scream.

I don't follow all cases or news, some of them, just like you, you don't know all of them. Nobody does. Everyone has their experience and stuff they learn. They can share if they want to. Is that a problem with you?

oh so you're an armchair felon? I'm sorry - hearing a story and going thru it are not the same thing. so yes that is a big problem. why? because when people tell me story about what they heard.... well - ever played "Chinese Whispers" aka "Telephone Game"?
