Has anybody tried their HA in their implant ear?

If that's true, what is 80% in reference to? Did Miss Kat get 80% of words wrong? I don't think so. Therefore, the only conclusion to make is that she hear and understood 80% -- not 0%.

She pointed to the right picture. She didn't repeat anything. Just like I could in any language. It is hearing but not understanding,

In order to point to the correct picture, she had to have heard and understood the word correctly.

There are 2 seperate issues here.

1st, she repeated back the Ling sounds. Ahh, ooo, eee, mmm, ssss, and shhh.

2nd, she points to the right picture, in a closed set of very different words.

No. I can hear the difference between two german words. I can not understand them.

Would getting a Cochlear Implant make you understand them?

Same difference as for your child.

She now hears with better clarity and is able to hear all the sounds instead of just the vowels. Now she is able to learn the words, since she has access to the sounds.

I know.

I said there are two issues. Repeating the Lings, and understanding words.

Repeating the Lings back accurately requires hearing as does repeating back 80% of words.

You're entitled to believe whatever you want to believe, but repeating back Ling sounds or anything else for that matter is still hearing.

Fair jour, are you actually reading the posts?

See, your sarcasm shows that you know there is a difference.

The difference between what? Hearing and understanding? We are communicating in writing -- not speech -- so your point is irrelevant.
