Happy Meal Banned

Then they will have to take the word "free" out of their advertisements. And, the toy is what makes it a "Happy Meal." Parents could just buy a hamburger, fries and drink for less than the Happy Meal would cost if they don't want a toy.

Sadly the Happy Meal costs less than the burger, fries, drink.

I envy the little kids! Some of those toys are nice!

Funniest thing in one video of a news reporting that looney regulation in SF was one legislature saying that it was possible to make a bag of carrots marketable to go with the Happy Meals.

Riiigght.

Really bunch of looney people out there. No wonder Kalifornia is going under. Moonbeam just now slapped on his super cape to the rescue just like he did the first time around reversing a surplus into a $6 billion dollar deficit during his stay. I guess that takes lots of skill to do that. LOL.

I think many would consider you one of the right wing "loonies". Just sayin'.

That probably depends on the kind of meal you order.

As for "toys sold separately" let's make it $0.01 to buy a toy separately with your take out order. The toy would practically be free. It'd be a bonus if your meal was a Happy Meal order for the little tyke.

Simple. Sell the Happy Meals without the toys. And McDonald's can ask them, "Do want a toy to go with that for .10 cents more?"

Voila.

Genius!

There are actually many ways around it.

I'm not in favor of spending money into oblivion, money we don't have. Nor am I in favor of telling people what they can or cannot eat, either. So, "loonies" are for those who don't quite have that common sense in store thinking regulating everything to death is the answer and money grow on trees.

Hey, you can see me!

They wouldn't even have to charge extra. If you notice on your reciept usually the food and drink are listed seperately and priced at a discount when you buy a combo. Just break out 1 cent from the burger price and put toward toy and they are covered.

Yeah, I suppose those loonies will whine and throw a classic adult tantrum fit while on the floor once they discover on how McDonald figured out how to get around that ridiculous ban.

Carrots anyone?

guess what, Diary Queen offer ice cream instead of toys :)

There's a solution. And one that doesn't cost the consumer any extra, instead of suggesting that consumers pay extra for the toy that they are already paying extra for when they buy a Happy Meal.

Then there is the possible adding of a coupon to save 25¢ to the inside of the actual Happy Meal box, good toward your next purchase, which would more than cover a 10¢ "Chubbiness Rewards Are Preposterous" (CRAP) fee that would be charged for the no longer free toy.

Do we need all of this? :thumbd:

Yeah, lots of ways. I'm sure McDonald's will test that ban seeing how unpopular it is and get around it. I hope they seriously do that. It'd be good for laughs.

 I agree

You aren't understanding what Happy Meal Ban really is, do you?

You want the toy? You must eat well. You want to get fat, you get no toy.

It's that simple. Why are you whining? Are you one of those whiny babies? I'd throw you out of my car window.

You talk like my dad.

The Happy Meal ban is an attempt by government to force a business to change their menu, and to force consumers to refrain from being able to choose a popular menu item. What is next; do they come around and check BMI door to door? If you fail, no mail service?

 Oh wait....don't let the government see us drinking a beer or they might not let us watch football next week.

We get no beer with our pretzels if we are more than 5% overweight...:jaw:

Your posts make liberals look so bad I sometimes wonder if you are a conservative plant.

 I actually agree!

Next, the salt shaker cop ready to arrest you for daring to put salt on your meal at a restaurant. We already got a Happy Meal cop in SF. How much further can this ridiculousness go?

Well....maybe Mayor McCheese will veto this.
