Field of vision.

Suppose you open carry. Someone sees you use ASL, therefore, knows your deaf/HoH.

They see your gun too. What is to stop them from sneaking up behind you and taking your gun and shooting you/robbing you with your own gun?

If they don't see the gun, they do not have that advantage over you.

And THAT, Bottesini, is called "situational awareness".

Just in case you didn't know ;) (and no, you didn't know).

Did I mention it is pretty damn obvious you have never lived as a deaf person?

Did i SAY they had to be law abiding...a lot of ppl are law abiding until they shoot someone and I didn't say it had to be a spree either...ppl shoot other ppl every effing day for NO reason look up the word "shooting"140,601 HITS in the news on SHOOTINGS this past month alone
yes... majority of them... by criminals. not law-abiding armed citizen. If you google "self-defense"... you will see tons of hits in the news on self-defense shooting by law-abiding citizens protecting themselves from criminals who wanted to kill them.

And AGAIN it is MY opinion so u can F right off since it's my opinion that matters ...great if u feel comfortable with someone having a gun beside u and them not being an officer..i effing dont so get off your high unintelligible horse and stop trying to make people feel stupid
I make it my mission to correct any misconception made by anti-gunners. You are free to make it your mission to enact anti-gun policy as well. :)

Its pretty damn obvious I have never said I was deaf - I am HoH.

But, since you claim to know everything there is to know about "deafness" and "obvious who is and who is not deaf"

I am actually completely deaf without my hearing aids.

Are you a mind reader too LOL

I don't understand the why of an open carry and UNLOADED firearm but it is legal, so, sure.
Carry two. :)

1. unloaded in the open

and

2. loaded concealed

Top it off with a bandolier?

Oh and I never said that it shouldn't be legal :) Just in my opinion...i would feel MUCH more safe in a room full of police officers than a room full of citizens carrying guns. Never said tho that it guns should be illegal that is the persons choice if they want it and as long as its legal I don't have much say on whether they should carry it or not...just saying personally I don't feel as safe with someone carrying a gun beside me who is a rando rather than a police officer doing the same...and p.s. even when I am standing beside a police officer with a gun beside me..i am STILL a bit intimidated and worrysome that something COULD happen... just my 2 cents ;)

are you sure you want to do that? Man Who Killed 4 Washington Police Officers Shot Dead - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com

You know - in Iraq - the locals run away whenever they see American soldiers coming by because they're walking targets and they don't wanted to get killed in crossfire.

just something to think about :hmm:

I'm totally against it....feel there will be more crime and killings if people are allowed to "holster up" anywhere. Guns in homes for protection is fine with me, as long as the gun is legal and the owner has a permit. And they are locked up, away from children's little hands...

I think ya'all know my stance on gun issue - specifically OC (Open Carry) and CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon). My stance is that I do not really support OC (but not making OC illegal). I encourage people to do CCW than OC.

Ya actually I am sure ...and that's great...good think I am not in Iraq ...also I am sticking to my original opinion...thanks..

Is it perhaps possible for you to post statistics promulgating your personal belief on this issue?

I can post statistics showing that violent crime happens much more often in gun free zones.

You know the old saying ... "Criminals prefer unarmed victims"?

anyway, I don't really see the purpose of carrying a gun everywhere unless he is a police. To me- showing off his gun is taunting people but I'm not afraid of people carrying a gun as i know he is more likely to go to jail if he try shooting. But I love to know someone is carrying a gun so I can leave!

I know some homicidal detective who carried a gun to a store where I used to work. He always look like he is in a bad mood.

two members...wow...you proved your point...not and it doesn't matter the word shouldn't be used...its rude regardless

You might have a point but since I see Jiro apologized to you back then, you shouldn't have brought that up here in this thread.

would you feel safe if a room full of citizen receive the same training as police and even have a license to carry a gun if the license require training (that covers what not to shoot and such)?

very very good point. I would absolutely support any State House Bill that requires firearms training as a prerequisite for a carry permit.

Well obviously police officers are bound by certain laws to only use them when needed in an emergency where as a civilian can fire at random and whenever they want to if they so choose
Concealed carry holders are also "bound by certain laws to only use them when needed in an emergency." In fact, civilians with conceal carry permits are more restricted than civilians without the permits. We are held to a higher standard by law.

A civilian cannot legally "fire at random and whenever they want to if they so choose." If a civilian does so choose to "fire at random" then he will have to pay the penalty for his actions.
