In regards to the EXACT question posted by the OP....Yes starbucks should ALLOW this as it is Law and they need to be law abiding...they can Ask to Please refrain from bringing guns on their premises but they cannot disallow it

they cannot "ask" to refrain from bringing the guns on their premises. that would be illegal.

I support CCW but open carry is questionable so I don't have any opinion about open carry.

Not true. I can ask you to take your boots off before you come in my house.

And businesses always have a clause on the door "right to refuse service to anyone."

I was not talking to you actually I was talking to Jiro ...you just happened to post while i was responding to Jiro's post...and BTW JIRO...the thread you made me refer to in regards to the "d" word ...ONE person posted on the subject...so excuse me that is HARDLY enough ppl to comment on...make a thread about it and then talk bout it...one person commenting does NOT mean that it is accepted in the gay community!

another one - AllDeaf.com - View Profile: deafdyke

Like I told you before - I apologized to you before and it's different for each lesbian I talk to. At least I didn't use it in a derogatory manner.

I am not sure if that is true. I think a private property owner can ask that no weapons be brought on their property.

There are some shopping malls that have a no weapons policy.

yes - Dunkin' Donut has posted a sign "NO GUNS ALLOWED" but point is -"Starbucks says it will allow the guns as long as they're legal."

I carry concealed for the fact I am HoH. A stranger can easily disarm me if they know I have a gun.

I understand what you are saying now.

Sorry, I think I missed that point. They have a national policy of allowing guns?

If you are that unaware you should not carry a gun.

so if a deaf driver is not aware of driver behind him honking at him, that deafie should not be driving, right? :hmm:

I thought bottesini was smart ... but I have been proven wrong.

How does they disarm so easily?

Field of vision.

Suppose you open carry. Someone sees you use ASL, therefore, knows your deaf/HoH.

They see your gun too. What is to stop them from sneaking up behind you and taking your gun and shooting you/robbing you with your own gun?

If they don't see the gun, they do not have that advantage over you.

And THAT, Bottesini, is called "situational awareness".

Just in case you didn't know ;) (and no, you didn't know).

Well he should certainly be looking. WHy do you think they require all three mirrors for deaf drivers?

you do have a fair point. The business does have rights to refuse to allow a person with gun on its premise. But according to the quote - Starbucks has allowed guns on its premise. I assume that means nationally. If one store wants to post "NO GUNS ALLOWED", I guess that store will have to ask the Starbucks man for permission.

But........ I COULD see this opening to future legal argument that business refusing to provide service to law-abiding gun owners is a discrimination :hmm:
