Calm down ma'dam.

This is a debate, not an attack on anyone's intelligence. :) No need to get personal. :cool2:

I am not trying to make you feel stupid. Why are you saying for me to F off?

Are you opposed to the 2nd amendment as well as the 1st?

You know ... free speech and all that?

You tell him.

:hmm: Inspirabull disappears, and Steinhauer appears. Coincidence?

I was not talking to you actually I was talking to Jiro ...you just happened to post while i was responding to Jiro's post...and BTW JIRO...the thread you made me refer to in regards to the "d" word ...ONE person posted on the subject...so excuse me that is HARDLY enough ppl to comment on...make a thread about it and then talk bout it...one person commenting does NOT mean that it is accepted in the gay community!

I want to share my experiences here in regards to guns. I am doing so sincerely, and I am not trying to antagonize anyone. I am not posting this to make ANYONE feel inferior, stupid, foolish or anything similar, I simply am just trying to explain something that led me to believe that a law abiding citizen should have the right to carry a handgun anywhere they go.

Ok, but first, I need to explain that I was once a very liberal minded anti-gun individual. At one time, I felt that people who owned guns were stupid rednecks that wanted to feel "powerful" but were really insecure losers. That was my perception .... at one time.

However, something terrible happened to me. I do not wish to explain what this terrible thing was here on a public forum. This terrible thing that happened to me could have been prevented if I had a way to defend myself.

Since I was very anti-gun, and this terrible thing happened to me, I later realized that I had allowed this terrible thing to happen me .

That's right! I allowed it to happen, because personal safety is nobody else's responsibility - it is my responsibility. I am penultimately responsible for my own safety. I can either choose to be a victim, or choose to defend myself. Its really a choice.

You cannot always depend on the police to protect you. They are not everywhere you go. Suppose someone breaks into your home, rapes your daughter .... are you going to wait until the police arrive before you do something?

Suppose someone attacks you while walking around on a college campus, are the police going to magically appear and save the day?

Seriously, consider these things .... go to a gun range, take a class and educate yourself on firearm safety. Once you have become educated, then ....and only then, should you form an opinion on what should be legal, and what should not.

Just my 2 cents.

You sound like a guy with a vested interest in a gun company!:lol:

...Our question to you today: Should Starbucks allow gun owners to openly carry handguns in its stores?
Starbucks should follow whatever the law requires.

Oh and I never said that it shouldn't be legal :) Just in my opinion...i would feel MUCH more safe in a room full of police officers than a room full of citizens carrying guns. Never said tho that it guns should be illegal that is the persons choice if they want it and as long as its legal I don't have much say on whether they should carry it or not...just saying personally I don't feel as safe with someone carrying a gun beside me who is a rando rather than a police officer doing the same...and p.s. even when I am standing beside a police officer with a gun beside me..i am STILL a bit intimidated and worrysome that something COULD happen... just my 2 cents ;)

In regards to the EXACT question posted by the OP....Yes starbucks should ALLOW this as it is Law and they need to be law abiding...they can Ask to Please refrain from bringing guns on their premises but they cannot disallow it

I understand you feeling intimidated by a gun. That is why I suggest you learn how to shoot one. I really think that once you are comfortable shooting a gun, you will no longer feel intimidated by them.

You might try to start of with a .22 revolver as it does not have much recoil.

If you try to shoot a .45 your first time, you will run screaming and never want to touch another gun in your life ;)

this is what I mean by the above comment:
