Just curious, Tousi...Do you feel that way about both candidates?

I did say that about both earlier, yes, but I think I'll now modify it to mean more so if Obama wins but not all that much better than if McCain does.

150,000? Damn that's good enough to get a HOUSE! What a waste of $ the RNC ought to be ashamed with this irresponsible spending spree when the damn economy is in the tank.

Think Obama is the elitist? Take a look at his shoes...

The Obamas Discuss Dressing On A Budget (VIDEO)

In early July the Obama family sat down for an interview with Maria Menounos of "Access Hollywood." One of the topics discussed was Barack's status as a style icon, which amused his wife and daughters because, as Michelle points out in the interview, his belt and shoes need replacing, and his pants are 10 years old ("I hate to shop," he explains). Michelle also reveals that the sundress she's wearing is from the Gap: "Fortunately now they make really pretty stuff at all price ranges... [Barack] will be happy to know that this is, like, a $30 dress." Her husband then high-fives her, and daughter Sasha announces "Mommy buys everything from Gap!"

The Obamas know how to look classy on a budget. Michelle wont even set foot at Saks 5th Avenue or those pricey stores. If the GAP is good enough for the Obamas, then it's good enough for me.

No, I can't see the pictures (I'm totally blind), but my sister has described Palin's clothing to me and I was like, "You've got to be kidding!"

I thought you can see the picture because you can read the text with the help from special computer for blind but I didn't know that you can't see the picture.

I'm sorry.

So should Palin wear a sweat suit and Crocs to campaign rallies?

How is that "mocking" the middle class? I'm middle class and I don't feel "mocked." I expect my country's leaders to look professional and well groomed. There's nothing wrong with that.

I know many professional and executive men and women, and some of them probably spend more than that every year on their outfits.

We already expect candidates to reveal their medical and IRS records. Should we now demand that they all reveal their receipts for clothing?

This is getting ridiculous.

I wish that would be new technology that allows totally blind to able to look at picture or visual, it would happen in near future.

I'd have to agree with Reba. Celebrities wear expensive clothes all the time, does this mean they "mock" middle class? Of course not. I don't think this should be the focus of the election. Nor let it form a basis of judgment towards the candidates.

HOWEVER, judging how McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden are, I can't say I'm surprised by the vast difference in clothes spending.

one can say Obama is a clever manipulator to fool the public by wearing "poor man's clothes" to disguise his shortcomings :hmm:

Foxrac,

That would be great! :) I'm hopeful it will happen eventually...

His clothes are not cheap. I like what he wears; they come off Nordstrom's racks.....

Haha, manipulation can apply for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING.

Trust no one.

you know what i mean.... :cool2: it's still a poor man's clothes compared to what politicians wear and they certainly didn't get it from Nordstrom's

Ok. Now I will add that compared to women, within the context of this discussion, men don't visually stand out as well as women do.
