exactly. I don't support the closure of Gitmo Camp. What's obviously needed is a change in policy and the inclusion of oversight. Obviously - the closure of Gitmo Camp is purely political... for P.R. purpose... to restore the trust and faith from international community.

well shit - I hope it's worth it..... :mad2:

Temporarily? In what, tents? No. Temporary housing must be just as secure as permanent housing.

Besides, how much you want to bet that if they are housed in anything "temporary" or incomplete, they will complain that they are being held in inadequate or inhumane facilities?

Temporarily in terms of being divided up to the 3 military prisons that are already under consideration--South Carolina, Kansas and California.

Secondly--what prisoner doesn't complain about inadequate or inhumane facilities? It comes with the territory.

They still require modification and moving out current prisoners. Our brig in Charleston spent many thousands of dollars just to modify one wing for three prisoners. The brig at Miramar (CA) is identical to Charleston, so they would probably have to do the same thing. I don't know how much more modification would be required for larger numbers of prisoners.

but you know we're talking about terrorists.... not your typical thugs like robbers and rapists. These are dangerous terrorists who are trained in explosion, interrogation, torture, etc.

it always costs extra money for prisons to add more prisoners. how else do they support them otherwise?

BINGO! In the case of the GITMO detainees, it becomes headlined "abuse" in the national and international press. Isn't that the reason everyone is demanding the closing of GITMO in the first place?

yes that's true. but it costs MORE just for terrorists for additional prison specification. Mind you - the prisons are not constructed with material from Home Depot. They are built with specialized material with specialized equipment.
