Girly stuff, like shoes, makeup, hair, etc.

Hey Sally, Umm I didn't know that Birks does boots, U see I am in UK I think they only do sandals but will look up the net and see. Thank you for the suggestion.

Great thread....

lol! you don't see those kind of mood-changing thing anymore these days. They should bring it back!

Yeah! My nephew bought it as a Christmas present for me about 15 years ago. He said he saw it and it reminded him of his "old hippie" auntie!

I really, really like Clarks shoes, too, because I can always find them in a size 5. I love their newest line: Primo. Just a bit funky looking, but same quality as the Clarks.

This thread has just reminded me I have some shoes I bought online which are too big and was going to return them then forgot all about it and they're still in my room...oops! I have narrow feet with high arches and claw toes so I have trouble getting flat shoes to stay on my feet, and high heels hurt! I love boots and trainers as they can be laced up tighter to fit.

I had a pair of DMs, 8 hole boots I got from a charity shop, a few sizes too big (turns out I've been wearing the wrong shoe size for years as all I ever wore was trainers) and I never found them comfortable.

My trainers at the moment are some padded Ellesse skate-style trainers I got for £2 from a charity shop in great condition, and a pair of Adidas trainers with 'bling' sparkly stripes which I bought because I used to get discount from my old workplace.

I love round toe shoes, lace up boots, anything a bit Victorian style, velvet covered shoes- I once saw some green velvet DMs on ebay!

I have some round toe mid-heel boots with buckles all the way up (they go to mid-calf) but they're a bit too small and I have to squish my feet into them. So most of the time I just wear trainers, and if I'm going to anything like a job interview I have some slouchy suede-effect ankle boots (too big!) or a pair of mary-jane type heels which hurt but I can wear them for a short while.

I have yet to find the perfect shoe for me!

I love girly things.... heck, pink and purple are my favorite colors. I love shopping...so much fun to look at clothes. I love shoes.... love it love it... I'm size 5 and 6 1/2 so it's easy to find cute shoes... hehehe.... I used to own so many pairs of shoes but I gave most of them away because I don't wear them anymore so now I only own five pairs of shoes, bad I know.

I sympathize with the narrow foot with high arches. My arch goes all the way to my ankle, practically. Plus my foot is short, too: a size 5 (I think that is UK size 37). I stick to flats, but not anything like a ballerina flat because, like you, they just fall off my foot. I wear a lot of clogs with hand knit socks, or anything that is cut high toward the leg. They seem to be more stable. For dress, I stick to a mid height pump. Lace up is always good, and I love boots!

Jillio, we use sizes 5, 6, 7 etc- 37 would be the continental european size. I used to wear a size 6 (I'm looking at a conversion chart and that's 8.5 American) but stayed away from actual shoes- high heels, or high sandals as my foot is usually floating above the shoe!

I always wore padded trainers laced up in a loose fit, then in the last year or so went shoe shopping and realised I'm a size 5 (US 7.5) in trainers and anything from a 3-5 in shoes- maryjanes seem to be the only 'shoes' I can wear except boots, and most high boots swamp my calves.

I have read that the standard shoe width is getting bigger- here it's hard to find specific widths unless you have especially wide feet. We can't get half sizes easily, apart from children's shoes- I'm intrigued how my feet translate to US half sizes. Children's shoes go up to size 5 though, so I can buy them, and they're cheaper as we don't have to pay VAT on them for some reason.

I've never considered clogs, I'll have to give that a try. I love the idea of lace up ankle boots with skirts :)

I'm not too much into makeups, ha. But, I do like to dress comfortable. I'm all a t-shirt/jeans person. I absolutely love wearing skechers shoes. Those jeans that are straight up doesn't feel fitting for me. I prefer having flare-up jeans (it's not exactly a bell bottom one but shorter than that).

I hate hate hate it when my hair frizzes up, especially in a humid environment or when it is moist. The serum I use has been pretty helpful to put the frizz under control.

When my hair is wet and if I were to let it dry naturally, it just poofs up and gets wavy which is what I loathe big time! I gotta have to use my trusty hair dryer to get it straight.

As for jeweleries - I use a celtic ring that is cross woven/binded together from one side to another side. I love it!

Clogs are super comfy and look fine with skirts.

Overthepond, Birk online has boots only for UK not US. Don't know why they quit selling them here. Here you go:

Ahhh...thanks for the information. I did not realize those conversions were only for Continental European sizes. Learned something today!

I too like the look of laced up ankle boots with longer, full skirts. Try the clogs. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I love girls who love girly things. :)

I love boys who love girls who love girly things

Okay, so I'm really not that girly. I like the look of heals, but only ever where flats. I'm mostly a jeans and simple shirt kind of girl. Except when it comes to makeup. I am a makeup fiend. And hair product. It's not just expensive makeup, either. I love everything from dollar store lip gloss to designer eyeshadow. I don't know what it is.
Actually, I do. Society says I can color on my face every day. How cool is that? And I happily color on my face every day :) I also like nail polish and I know I won't be allowed to wear it in the professional world or when I switch schools (because it can make signing a little more difficult), but for right now I'm going CRAZY. I have pink and zebra stripes going on today. Yikes, don't judge me. lol!

Wow, thanks, didn't know that UK does them... But my guess that only London would do them... or order online. it's also reasonbly priced.

:D tell me about it! it's very humid here at the moment and my hair is awful! I am going to tell my hair dresser to forget cutting my hair off shoulder as i cannot put it in pony tail when it's bad! Hair dryer seems to make it worse but i can guess that my hair dryer is old?? My hair is extremely Dry and quite thick hence bad frizz!

First off: Awesome subject! :thumb:

Girly stuff? What's that? :giggle:

Me loves dresses, dresses and dresses :D
Got tons of Pyjamas (27 in total)
Purses... eh... quite a few ;)
Shoes... not summuch
Sox... lots and lots and lots of them

Last but not least I got FAR TOO MANY sports outfits but that's not really girly but eh.... :cool2: Same applies to sox but since I only do collect SNOOPY socks to wear with my jeans I'm kinda picky there... :laugh2:

I love Eeyore, Snoopy, piggies, kitties and HK  Eh... I'm young and childish at heart! :giggle:

Jaime, I used to collect snoopy when i was a kid. i had tons of snoopy supplies, tshirt, and more. I got rid of them when i got older. I regretted it!

I still collect tee shirts to the day.

Ooh, I love socks! I'm wearing purple striped knee-highs at the moment with a pink corduroy skirt I got today for £4 from a charity shop (thrift store). I found some great ankle socks with a cupcake pattern on :) I also have Miffy the bunny socks and fluorescent knee-high socks with hearts on. I bought a 10-pack of plain ankle socks last year and I have no idea where most of them are so I have to keep buying more!

Is fashion a lot different in your country compared to the USA? Is there any British fashion websites?

We have those here in Massachusetts. I have 4 pairs of shoes and 7 pairs of clogs. They are so comfy!!! :D
(I had to rid some of 3,000 pairs of shoes last year. I only keep 550 pairs of shoes, boots and sandals. Also, I have 40-50 pairs of blue jeans. Mostly are designers!!!)
