Board of Members are typically responsible for setting the priorities.... including 3 Congressmen

Assuming that is accurate, they would still have to set priorities for that spending, correct?

for education and research only then yes, but for dorm and boarding so no, unless US Department of Education allows that or get more grant from federal.

That doesn't make sense.

I'm not going waste my time to explain and let you to figure it out.

Let move on and talk about McCaskill.

That's cool. I already understand how budgets work anyway.

It don't means dorm get federal funding, though and if it is funded with federal funding so the dorm is supposed to be much cheaper, but not true at all. The total cost of one dorm room is $745 per month for roommate, $1,490 per month for one person so no kitchen, no living room, no dining room, no office, so only have lobby, that's true for Carlin Hall.

Gally got revenue from students to renovate the 4 dorms last summer.

How did the students get revenue if they are in school full time? Did they work?

I am glad he said it actually. It lead me to do a little more research. I found a subtle but large discrepancy between 2 financial reports.

So, just to be clear, you are saying that construction and renovation of dorms is not included in budget requests, right?

he said Gally gets revenues from students (tuition), not students.

please do elaborate more on that. how much are we talking about? what's missing?

I think we've made it clear that such things are not from federal fundings.

I doubt it but that's ok. not exactly something that a regular Joe the Plumber can understand in a matter of weeks. if you're an accountant, I'd understand but do keep learning more... you'll find something a lot more how it works.

there are things like grants, donations, tuition revenues, endowment income, state and local appropriations, fees, investment returns, etc.

Wow, that's expensive! For $1,490 per month here you can rent a 4-bedroom, 3-bath house with a 2-car garage, 2,400 sq. ft, and still have money left over.

Do you at least get amenities with that fee, such as indoor pool, gym, and tennis courts?

It must be hard. Room and board plus tuition and fees. I don't know how they do it. That's a lot more money than I make, even if I paid 100% of my income for school expenses. Maybe their parents saved up for college since their children were babies? :dunno:

Can a college student really earn that much per month while attending school?

that's what student fee is for.

FAFSA.

but if you think that's expensive, try Boston University.

How much does FAFSA money cover?

TCS and I filled out FAFSA and we aren't eligible for any help, so I don't know how much it would be for those who are eligible.

I know that there are other colleges that charge more than Gally but there are also those that charge less. But for students who want to attend a college for the Deaf, they don't have all those options.

I do have a friend who attends Boston U. She is a disabled veteran, so she gets VA benefits for tuition and a disability pension to live on. It's not a lot but she's single and frugal.
