Unlawful? Supposed a earthquake strikes, is nature breaking the man's law? Sometimes the man's law can be wrong or unjustifiable. You see, government broke their own laws too. American justice is broken. PERIOD.

Do you want to be in lawless society?

I think you should worry about DEA and government's action on drugs, over idiots who screwed up the national or state parks.

I only agree with you about drug laws aka prohibition is stupid but I don't agree with your view about idiots who screw up the park.

Felony=jail time
Misdemeanor=fines/community service

That's basically the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. Well and a felony follows you far far longer. Just one small example, when applying for a job felonies must be disclosed while misdemeanors do not.

So for those of you that don't think jail time should be given, but that they should be paying fines, community service, cleaning up parks etc etc etc

You do in fact agree with hoichi

What about felony probation?

I support prison time for two idiots.

Did I ever said we should go lawless? Hmmm, all I said that America justice is broken, it does not mean we need to take down all of the laws.

Secondly, government whose made the law should never go above the law, how many times does government went above the law since the death of George Washington?

Like I said earlier, Government messed up with millions of rocks at Niagara fall, mind you, that Niagara fall is a PARK! While at same time, it is not ok for just couple guy topping off just one rock and charged these two guys with felony?

In this case, I would view this violation by two guys as a civil infraction NOT felony! Even misdeamnor is too much of charge.

American society really really, in my view, overstepped on this case, wasting plenty of taxpayers funds where they (Funds) could better use for something else that is far far more serious than just a rock.

Felony is a permanent record and intended to haunt one forever. Is that justifiable just to topping a rock? Did these two guys killed a guy ever? Why Felony?

I would bet my ass these natives (American Indians) would be dying to agree with you. These natives do not believe they own the land at all and they pissed off when Americans (Not indians) thinks they own the land outright.

That is because we have a right to live on Mother Earth. We are the caretakers of Mother Earth. We never think about owning lands at all. We thought that Grandfather Sky own Mother Earth (no money). Why are we paying for lands like that? That does not make sense. This is how we all have to survive to live on. We can still trade or sell or buy what we need to have like clothes, stuff we need to use in our household and other things that we may not need or in need. But owning the lands are different thing to think about like that. Now we have been forced to buy lands and there are always battle to fight for our lands because the whites took our lands and want to use deed or title that we can not get it back from. That is what made us so upset and angry about it. Geeze.

We do have laws during American Revolution and Washington's presidency - see common law and lawmakers can make new laws that majority of them agree with proposal. State or US Supreme Court only rule whichever laws are constitutional or not. I don't see anything went above the law because new laws require approval from legislation, sign by executive and interpreting by court about whichever is constitutional.

Majority of Utahans aka voters want their state parks protected and it is felony to vandalize their state parks. Who elect the state governor? from voters, who elect the legislators? from voters, the state governor nominate the judge or voters elect the judge, so all come from vote. I don't see anything went above the law.

Utahans see their state parks as valuable to nature and their state.

Yes, it is justifiable to charge two idiots with felony offense.

Remember, I'm EXTREMELY DETEST anyone vandalize the parks.

You don't have to kill someone to get felony charge - rape, grand theft, treason, drug smuggling, arson, assault, burglary, kidnapping, vandalism (state, federal properties), child pornography and other offenses.

Talk to American indians and see what they got to say. About a year ago, American indian was very very furious that Wallenda decided to walk on high wire over canyon and yes they (Indians) banned him from walking on high wire, yet Uncle Sam ignored them.

Ask American Indian, see what they said.

The truth is, we should never kick American Indian out of their own country, we did that anyway.

In many centuries ago, Utah's land was part of Mexico.

What my quote does with native Indians?

I believe that Native Indians could execute (kill) you for vandalize their property, so that's worse than state government put idiots in state prison.

Don't forget that Americans have damaged American landscape far far far more than these two guys! Much worse than these two guys. Perfect example… Gold diggers, they have done trillions times damage than these two guys, and none of them have felony records on them.

Just by topping a rock? I don't think so! If they destroy square miles of landscape, maybe yes.. One rock? Oh please!

They were very protective of nature so vandalize their nature = death penalty.

It only happened if you were in pre-colonial era, especially 16th or 17th Century.

That is because the Grand Canyon is very sacred to Native Americans just like the Badlands in South Dakota. We have a lot of respect for rocks, rivers, trees, and many of very sacred natural nature in our World. We love them and respect them and we don't want them to destroy our World, ever.

Now you're being ridiculous.

Of course, laws apply to human beings only.

can you cite any sources to back up the claim natives would put one to death for moving some rocks?

(lights cigarette, inhales deep, exhales........)

rather, then lame charges i offer this
Everyone who i so outraged chip into a crowd source project, a buck or 2 each, to have a native artist make a sculpture of the rocks that were toppled as a testament to what they once where and as a reminder to all who visits the park to be mindful of what nature has for us, and to preserve it for future generations.

be creative and constructive. to focus solely on punishment is well not surprising given the current state of society,
rise to be better
and more to the point
get over it
they are rocks
