Just curious; why would you want to come here,

i love america and most of my family are there

and why would anyone be happy to see you waving Old Glory?

i wasnt waving old glory i was clutching for it from out my window, i see it everyday.

Aren't you delighted to be out of here, away from the power-thirsty leadership?

not at all. i prefer America to cananda

now back to the thread

Felony is a permanent record and intended to haunt one forever. Is that justifiable just to topping a rock? Did these two guys killed a guy ever? Why Felony?

it's a felony to assault a police officer.
it's a felony to evade an arrest.
it's a felony to rob a bank.
it's a felony to hijack a plane.
it's a felony to possess and distribute narcotic substance.

but.... from these charges... was a person killed?

its not up to me to educate you jiro on what YOU are calling for
be responsible and do the homework
its what you want. not me

you do understand it costs to drag people to trial, regardless of the sentence after if convicted. right jiro? huh (scratches head) obviously you don't.
ok then
you are aware it costs to have people convicted of crimes and in the system on parole and or probation?

yes jiro aint no such thing as a free lunch.
never said there's a free lunch.

I see a pattern of you making us do the work for you. we both know why. cuz it's game over for you. why? cuz your line of reasoning and logic have failed. you continue to hoot like an owl with same line instead of answering our questions.

Just by topping a rock? I don't think so! If they destroy square miles of landscape, maybe yes.. One rock? Oh please!

maybe yes? the corporations and executives were held criminally liable for damaging miles of nature and ecosystem like... deepwater horizon oil spill.

Im speaking of relativity when it comes to consequences. Felony on just topping the rock isn't excessive? Perhaps there is constitution where cruel or unusual punishment is not allowed. I believe it applies on this case... Felony charge on this case, I don't think it is justifiable!

I should add cocaine to cigarette to make him crazy.

I'm sure that could make thread goes out of hand with all nonsense argument.

I believes that US Supreme Court today likely to rule that vandalize the park is felony, but it is just low level felony like Class C, D or E.

In reviewing the linked article I was reminded that the rock was in a State park, not a National park. Therefore, I believe, the offense is against that State, not the Federal government.

:ty: for correction.

Where is value in it?

Don't you realize that vandalize anything value of less than $1K is misdemeanor not felony?

The rocks at state parks have very higher value, so vandalize the state park = criminal mischief so that's felony if damages are a lot more.

Not really, there have been debating how they value it, there is no way anyone could put value in it.

Same idea, if you rob a bank, you stole their money so it is felony automatically on other hand if you decide to steal a 2 dollars candy bar from Wal mart, will they charge you as felony? I don't think so.

I don't think these two guys deserve a felony charge at all. Its excessive to me. They are not like blowing up the whole area which I could agree as felony

Steal $2 candy from Walmart is misdemeanor, or more lesser, civil penalty like $200 fine to get all charges dropped or exempt from prosecution. If you point the gun at cashier over $2 candy is felony (robbery). In here, if you steal over again so it can become felony.

That's Utah law - agreed by majority of voters and there are a lot of angry Utahans after two ex-scouts vandalized state park. They posted a video via online so that's not going well for two idiots.

See my post about criminal mischief above.

I STILL think it is

The charges is still gone too far!

I bet in just few years this incident will be forgotten.

Lets look at business perspective, set personality aside.

There was a auction going on, just for that specific rock, however there are millions similar to this one around. The open bidding is a dollar, $1.01 anyone? What do you think would likely going to happen next?

Don't forget in judicial system NOTHING is personal, period.
