Felony charges filed in Utah rock formation destruction

Rather than prison time for this offense I would prefer to see a combination of hefty fine and community service.

Side notes:

I believe IF a convicted felon has served his time and is adhering to the conditions of his parole, then that person should be given a fair chance on the outside. (I also believe in "trust but verify.")

I don't believe we need to continue harping on a person's background as a way to bolster our arguments. Maybe we're not all ex-cons but we got enough skeletons in our own closets to consider.

I dislike the use of tobacco products as much as anyone but someone mentioning smoking in their posts essentially like a signature isn't going to hurt anyone here, even in a second hand way.

^^^ IMO ^^^

I agree that paying a hefty fine and community service is a better idea.
Why should the taxpayers have to pay for the guys time in jail? We'll have to pay for their meals medical bills , haircuts etc. They could clean up parks as their punishment .

is there any difference at all in the lincoln memorial and some rocks standing on each other?

yes they toppled rocks, now again how much will it costs the tax payers?
at least know what the cost is in which you blindly obey

This just may be rock to you but there are a lot people that enjoy going to Utah to see the rock formation and that help bring money to the state. If the rock formation was totally destroy people would not be interested in seeing it and that would be lost of money. Tourists spend a lot on vacation,
and that help keep the economy strong , so it would cost the taxpayers a lot if they lost the $$$ tourists bring in. The rock formation help bring $$$ to Utah .

no not period.
the law should serve man, not man the law!!

No? That explain me about you want return to prison.

Those law in book and you have to follow, period or you will go back to prison.

at what exactly? that i think these guys arent felons and shouldnt be? fine. kepe bieng baffled. im cool with that.
They are charged with a felony. Perhaps the DA is hoping for a plea bargain.

cool. my posts speak for themselves. again this thread isnt about me, my opinion isnt a popularity contest, im flattered you like me, and seem to want to spend time chatting. but really this thread isnt about me. and further you shoudl try to argue against my ideas and not my person.
I like everyone. Their opinions? Not so much.

i dont get it? you ask to be picked on in another thread due to you bieng bored. i do and now you pout?
pfth
what ever

That is over in Beiber-land. If people want to discuss Beiber, I might drop in to stir up things. Whatever works to keep me humored. Making jokes about everyone lining up to perform fellatio, or ejaculating on my face, are sophomoric taunts. Your bitterness is polluting my planet. I want it to go away.

they do anyway. the rocks are toppled. dragging these guys through the system wont change that.
What is your plan? Freedom, with book deals and movie rights to sell? Treat them as royalty?
Really not complicated. Do the crime - go to trial. Convicted - Pay the price. No free rides because "I didn't know" or "You gotta be kidding me!"

I am finished with this, for now.

Who got charged for toppling rocks at Old Man of the Mountain?

is there any difference at all in the lincoln memorial and some rocks standing on each other?
yes. both are protected by federal law.

is there any difference between man made art, the lincoln memorial and a two rocks standing in a natural rock formation?

i'm not the one here making such a comparison i am asking a question regarding such a comparison
some critical thinking is in order here

you do understand that man has made laws for man and not for the laws sake do you?
or has that changed?

yes. both are protected by federal law.

obey what?

the laws particularity those here who are calling for these guys to be dragged through the injustice system.
the only people which are served in this are those who wish and or have made a career by misusing and or abusing the law to suit their own personal ends
it certainly helps no one but them
dragging these two through he injustice system only betrays the very real plms within it

indeed. and again how much will this cost? im always amused when i bump into those like you who foam at the mouth to incarcerate people yet don't know how much it costs. as for the price and paying. yes saywhatkid there are no free rides. the tax payers will pay a bill which you don'[t know the price of. thats highly irresponsible

and to further a career on the fumes of the press coverage and what the case will generate yes

go away, nothing is stopping you.

What is your plan? Freedom, with book deals and movie rights to sell? Treat them as royalty?

my plan is to continue living my life, working and loving my career, and being happy with where i am now and knowing i have many more mountains to climb. as for these guys. i am giving them the due every human being should get when it comes to their life as oppose do the position of inanimate objects found in nature

I am finished with this, for now

Thank you for the thoughtful discussion and your input saywhatkid

yes. both are protected by federal law.

im not asking if both are protected by federal law. i'm asking if there is a difference between the two. i didn't make the comparison here. i am exploring the comparisons ramifications

there is none. again.... both are protected by federal law... with no discernible difference

because...... they are law-breakers.... you know what happens when you break the law, right? you face a ramification.

you are acting like they're murderers... you silly silly silly bird.

is there any difference between man made art, the lincoln memorial and a two rocks standing in a natural rock formation?
absolutely none. federal law. federal property. federal prison.

i'm not the one here making such a comparison i am asking a question regarding such a comparison
some critical thinking is in order here

a very simple critical thinking for you.... both are protected by federal law.... because they're on federal property... a citizen should know this.

you wanna topple a rock? do it in your own backyard. your backyard. your law. your rock.

interesting

interesting

is there a difference between toy gun and real gun when you rob a bank? will you get charged less or a slap on the wrist if you used a toy gun to rob a bank?

yes

is there a difference between toy gun and real gun when you rob a bank?

yes.

do you know why?

and when you answer that pls explain how the above has any relevance on your assertion that rocks standing by themselves in nature are the same as the lincoln memorial
