doctors cannot ask about guns

As stated before. A doctor asking a routine question during a routine exam if there is a gun in the house is not required and has no reason to report the owner of the gun.

and there's no reason for doctors to ask us about gun.

they don't report but they can mark it in their file. what happens next? I don't know. Medical Insurance? Most likely since they're the one who is paying for my bills.

1. nothing will happen if you say you're not sexually-active or not smoking because it's not illegal to lie to doctors.
2. But you will be reported to government if you have AIDS.
3. Something COULD happen if you honestly answered doctor's question that you do own a gun.

Medical insurance companies can only access information that is directly pertaining to a claim. And only then when you sign a consent for the doctor to release that information.

and you are very confused regarding gun law especially in states like NJ and NY.

No I'm not. And gun laws in NJ and NY have virtually nothing to do with this topic.

So, you would prefer that we not access mental health records, and just allow actively psychotic, homicidal, and suicidal people to purchase guns at will?

what I would prefer is unfettered gun rights so that we can protect ourselves from actively psychotic and homicidal people.

Suicidal People? I suppose you're open to a creation of Thought Police.

How does registering for a permit equates to consulting a doctor?

a mark in file. State Police will and can see it, no doubt. That's NJ to you. #1 gun hater.

What on Earth do this have to do with the doctors?

Unfettered gun rights would mean that those actively psychotic and homocidal people would have more firepower than you.

Yeah, suicidal people. There are ways to assess for suicidal ideation. You are really starting to make a complete fool of yourself here.

You really are paranoid. Are you sleeping well?]]

The state police don't make a habit of going to doctor's offices and reading records just to determine who has a gun and who doesn't. They are not even legally permitted to do so.

That's what it says in paper. In reality.... nope.

And round and round and round.....
I had a same thought. Simple - tell us, not ask us.

So doctors are not allowed to protect yourself from your own delusions?

I suggest seeking a volunteer position at the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends before keeping up this charade.

Yes, Jiro, in reality. It is only your paranoia that makes you believe it is not so. Take it from someone that has to deal with HIPPA and confidentiality on a daily basis. You do not know what you are talking about.

wow. psychotic and homicidal people would have more firepower than me? wow. paranoid much? is that why you support reduction of gun rights?

We're not in Iraq, silly. In this country, nobody especially psychotic and homicidal people can pack a grenade launcher, machine gun, or flamethrower. It's not firepower that wins the game.... it's the precision.

Although.... on a very rare case... firepower does win the game.... like LA Bank Robbery back in 1997...

and where did I say that?

That is not paranoia. That is simply fact, based on their motivation to be armed. Of course, with the paranoia you are exhibiting, you could well fit into that category.

Unfettered gun rights allows them access to weapons that they normally would not have legal access to given their mental health status. Duh.

did you repeatedly miss my post where I said that I have no problem with doctors asking questions if they suspect of their patients being in danger?

and the federal law prohibits one with mental and/or criminal history from owning a gun.
