you can't drive if you can't see. driving = privilege. of course, you can live without learning how to drive.. but it's always nice to just get in a car and go to wherever you want to go, all under your control.

Even though I drive, I feel I can go anywhere I want to go on the metro bus.

I don't always like to drive, so if you live near a bus, you still feel satisfied. my sister live in DC and she feel contented with the metro. she hates the traffic.

So people aren't missing anything as long as they are near the bus line.

actually, I hate driving and the responsibilities that goes with it. But my husband FORCED me to learn to drive and get a license. He hated being treated as driving Ms. Daisy

yeah i know, but it depends on the area and how good the public transportation is.

all true statements..i do not like public transpo ...i don't like germs..thus ppl coughing all over the place and such does not appeal to me, and i've been grabbed by a bus driver before for not hearing him so communication on a bus sucks for me...and i've been in an accident with a bus ( i wasnt driving)...so i love having my own car to drive myself to and from places:)

oh btw Jiro he prolly won't tell u what they're answers were lol

oh yes, doll - I expect that. Based on spotty record.... that's where my money is on... unless I'm proven wrong.

Some said yes, some said no, some weren't sure if it was a good idea. What else? I didn't ask everybody at once.

ah... then there's nothing surprising about AD community on that issue, right?

also - you didn't answer my 2nd question back there. I asked what was your wife's opinion in this issue since she's deaf. (but it's up to you if you want to answer this question or not if it's too personal).

I take that anyday than being responsible for a car accident. There's nothing like feeling sick in your stomach because you made an mistake and got sued for it. It's almost like a PSTD.

I am not going to comment much on the driving thing..its my choice to drive and i'm not stopping just because I may get into an accident in the future i try not to think negatively when I leave my house to get from point a to point b

I know, but I just wanted to let people know they aren't missing anything if they can't drive. I don't think people should act like "oh look what you can do if you drive" Driving is driving. Nothing special about it.

Einstein never drove a car in his life. And he's a genius, too.
