Declaration of Occupy Wall Street

Not trying to pin the blame on you for the things I mention above. Notice I have much less to say to other Conservatives on this forum, basically because they tend to be biased and fail to see it. At least we can have a respectful discussion.

However, I doubt you could read the comments under these videos that Tx is posting and not feel the hate that some people have for this movement.
  • "They are practicing for the Raping they will gets from the new Communo-Socialist government they are setting up"
  • "this is the Obama-nation you lame brain, Obama Zombies voted for!"
  • "This is the liberal utopia they've talked about . It's insane"
  • "It was bound to happen, give free reign to the sickos and this is what you get. I'd say NYC needs to be a police state it's the only language these creeps understand, if they resist shoot them down."
  • "Hide yo chilren, hide wives and hide yo husbands cuz day be rapin ever body up in hea."
  • "Getting ass-raped by fellow OWS zombies.....Priceless!"
Now tell me, are these comments being written by Liberals to paint the Conservatives in a bad light? I don't think so. Just curious, has any of the pundits on Right wing websites posted anything that does not try to paint the people involved as anything better than Liberal zealots with nothing else to do but break laws? My entire point is that these people are the focus of most of the Conservative rebuttals, and I find it boring. Same with the flow of "Obama cannot throw, golf, ride a bike, bow correctly" crap that permeated the political forum.

My point is that Liberals could easily use the same philosophy about these comments to paint the entire group of Conservatives as haters.

Anyhow, nice to see you back.
None of those quotes are actually cheering a man getting raped, so I can't condemn them on those grounds. To say that would be gross hyperbole. I can say those quotes are tastelessly capitalizing on one incident. There are better ways to discuss this without resorting to what amounts to taunting, so I will condemn them on those grounds. That doesn't mean the movement deserves no criticism for a pattern that appears to be developing, with incidents in New York, Baltimore, Cleveland, Oakland, Seattle, and so on. It's time for it to end. I think at this point, any self-respecting lefty would distance himself from the movement.

The closest one to "racially loaded jargon" is the fifth one, but that's borrowed from a popular internet meme. That doesn't count.

Not my style, but I felt the last one was cheering on this assault. Anyhow, I felt sheepish posting those quotes. There are so many gathering spots for the haters on both sides to rub elbows and exchange these types of insults.

I have not embraced the movement except for their right to gather. A lot of the incidents being reported are coming in from our top shelf staff of Right Wing truth purveyors, and that will likely continue. The Left often has tried to paint over these incidents. It takes both sides to keep fanning the flames.

Wow, OPOA is attacking their boss, trying to appear like victims, and making no mention at all about the crimes they committed? And then using this "Oakland taxpayers are paying for this" line to try and stir up anger.

They have absolutely no room to be critical at this moment. Classless immaturity. I hope whoever is responsible for this letter is roasted.

It was the victim tactic that turned my stomach.

Well "crimes they commited" has yet to be proven..... But yeah they did go after the Mayor. No doubt. And the taxpayers ARE paying for it. No doubt.

The last one was sarcasm I am pretty sure. :dunno: It was tacky but internet comments often are. That is why I rarely read them.

I'm sure the victim will understand. :eek3:

Anyhow, no need for me to continue this debate.

What we know for sure is that the police fired a stun grenade into a small group of people trying to administer help to a man who most likely was already injured by their deterrents. That was criminal behavior no matter how you try and slice it. You want to play the willful ignorance card on the other stuff and say it "has yet to be proven"? Fine, but it's 100% irrefutable that they fired on an injured man and group of responders who posed no threat at all, and the video backs it up. Cowards.

Citizens have always paid for police presence. That's what taxes are for. And Trying to use that tactic as a rhetorical barb is only going to backfire on them. I would wager to say that it was their presence that caused the problem in the first place. Their presence was unnecessary. I didn't see any of the "taxpayers" demanding the protester's removal by overwhelming and violent force.

Tx does. So does Stein. So do millions of others. They want this thing squashed.

Sorry, truth sucks. :sadwave:

Tough shit for them. The majority (of taxpayers) supports these protesters, and that's the fact of the matter.

Lot's of taxpayers are asking for them to be shut down. Personally I am not. I would love to see the protests continue. And the "stun grenade" was lobbed not fired......THAT is clear on the video. I'm not convinced they saw Olsen on the ground either. Especially in that much chaos. They may have.....if so they should be punished. But I don't see 100% proof here.

In these two polls from left leaning sites.....

Poll: More NY voters support Occupy Wall Street - WSJ.com

Poll: 43 percent agree with views of "Occupy Wall Street" - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Support is only in the mid 40's (less than a Majority)......and that is on the issues. I would guess far less support their actions. :dunno: could be wrong, but I doubt it.

What's interesting is that 67% of independents believe income is not fairly distributed. My bet is that the actions of the protesters will scare off independents.....especially if liberals continue to embrace them. Just my guess. I'm sure you disagree. Time will tell.

EDIT: And, the people in those polls are not necessarily taxpayers.....

Again I hope they continue.....
