I'll see if PM will handle it. Its about an 18 pager.:giggle:

 if you need to send it via several pm's, that's fine. otherwise you can send it to me through e-mail, but i will have to give you my e-mail address since the one that's in my profile is incorrect.

And why I spoke up as well. And if you read the most recent posts from damienmommy, she has clarified the fact that others totally misunderstood what she was saying, and therefore, attacked her on nothing more than their gut reaction instead of trying to relate to her.[/QUOTE]

And that seems to be a big problem that occurs between the Deaf and hearing communities about each other.

And it always turns out badly?

Consistently, when collecting data from both hearing and deaf peers in the same classroom, and compared cross culturally, and in different age groups, mainstreamed children, whether with CI or HA, suffer negative psycho-social consequences.

You can email it to me and I will gladly post it up on my site for all to download. :cool2:

No, of course you didn't. But she was attacked very early on and then later in the thread.

oh, okay. i just wanted to make sure people didn't think i was attacking her. i support her decisions 100%.

Nothing is always.

As Bott was requesting an opinion based on the conclusions found after a review of the research available, I do believe that was my question to answer. And the answer is there are consistent negative effects.

I feel a lot of despair sometimes.

Not to despair Bott. We just have to keep working to make people, no matter how much they don't want to hear the sad facts, pay attention to them so future children will be at an better advantage.

He asked always, so answer the question. Do all mainstreamed deaf kid end up with social issues?

i never attacked the op. if she hates ci's, she has every right to feel that way.

And vallee has every right to feel what she feels too but instead she got attacked.

Which is why I pointed out earlier that an understanding and fluency in ASL and experience in communicating with ASL users made her post easier to understand for some of us, and why some posters were interpreting it incorrectly.

I honestly feel the same despair that Botts feel and u know what? Many other Deaf people feel the same way too. I think after 100 plus years of oppresion, protests, and education, it still all goes back to the same story...the hearing view is superior.

You know what I find really appalling? One poster threw a grenade into this thread and derailed into ....this debate. The OP was venting about something she had a right to vent about and she was attacked for it. Now, instead of supporting the OP, we have pages of a debate that should really have never taken place.

It's sad.

I've already answered Bott's question. And, Bott is a she. I answered it a second time in replying to your post. What part of "consistently negative effects" do you have difficulty understanding?

Until you pointed it out and after all these attacks, I realized that I understood her on the spot without even thinking twice about it. I find it interesting for myself because I am a late ASL user.
