To add to Lucia's post.....I have gay uncles and they have adopted a little boy. They are better parents then if my cousin had stayed with his drug addict homeless parents!

I think you should respect other people's point of view even if you don't agree with it.

I'm all for same sex marriage but unfortunately the bible doesn't permit it. Don't blame Maria for that. Blame St Paul. He's the one who was against same sex marriage in the first place. I recon he just didn't like the Roman lifestyle. They were very liberal in that direction.

Depends on your interpretation of verses. There are some christians who interpret the Bible as being OK with GLB folks.

Personally, I just don't agree with the marriage of homosexuality for a few reasons (Not because of my Bible said so, I have a few more reasons than just this Bible as well) but they deserve to have a right like hetersexual couples do. :)

EDIT: I don't think it's fair to prevent same-sex couples from getting a mariage. Let them to have it!! <3

.. then why do men have prostates and women clitorises? Both are means of sexual pleasure NOT involved in PIV sex for the purposes of procreation- in fact, an overwhelming amount of women say they cannot orgasm from vaginal stimulation alone!

Save the cheap arguments like 'the parts fit' for people who don't have a head full of reason on their shoulders. The parts may fit for some people, but for all people, we've got equally if not more interesting bits to play with, thank you very much.

And don't even GET me started on the standard that marriage is for procreation alone. Uh, say what? What about infertile couples? Couples that choose to be childless? Couples or complete strangers that choose to have children outside of marriage, ones that adopt, single women who make use of sperm donation.. it's a long list.

Marriage is about legal recognition and protection. If it is not within your religion's beliefs, the CONTRACT of marriage being granted in a non-religious context (as all marriages should be) does not interfere with your ability to perform heterosexual religious ceremonies only.

It's not your life- I don't get into yours, what gives you the right to muddle around with mine because you feel that I should only be attracted to one specific gender and everything else doesn't fit your attractive mold? The sanctity of drive through vegas weddings versus the love of committed gay couples? Yeah, I can understand why you want to keep your 50% divorce rates all to yourselves.

Some people who is not religious and they did save it for marriage because of their personal reasons.

generally - I wish I know how to defend the traditional marriage since, obviously, they 'attack' on the traditional marriage... That's a shame... =/

Anti-gay people's argument against "gay marriage" is that it is "not natural."

So, they are saying that sex's purpose MUST be for making children. If having sex without intent of having children, it is the SAME as being HOMOSEXUAL.

That is not the issue. TWO ADULTS WHO MARRY is NOBODY'S BUSINESS.

You just don't get it, do you? Prop 8 grabs the rug from under the feet of same-sex couples who wish to have the same rights as their straight counterparts to marry.

It's pathetic that you have to hijack this thread with your negativity. I feel sorry for you.

Yup, not very suprised because there's still anti-gay marriage in CA, usually in inland countries, it seems like need take some time to phase out and many conservative people are left CA to other state since early 90's.

In 2000, Proposition 22 was passed to ban on gay marriage by 61% but Proposition 2 is passed by 52%, it seems closer to be less than 50% in next 10 years and could have any chance to repeal this law, or law will goes to federal court or supreme court.

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe the people who went against Proposition 8 have no problem with gay couples having the same rights as heterosexual couples, they just didn't want to impose on something that was traditionally done by religious institutions? (i know i know Im bringing up the R word...)

If you simply ask them "Do you think that gay couples should be together exactly like hetero couples and have the exact same benefits/rights?", I am willing to bet that the majority will say yes.

I had a big argument with a male friend of mine about homosexuality. He didn't hate gay people, but he thought they were unnatural. He used that "sex organ fits" argument.

The ironic part?

He LOVES anal sex. He can't get enough giving it to girls up the pooper.

The even more ironic part?

He moved several months ago into a modern neighborhood and has a few neighbors who are gay. He loves hanging out with them and has even gone to a gay club to see what its like. He apologized to me all the things he said about gay people.

By the way, are BJs natural?

Homos do a better job at marriages than heteros. :roll: Afterall 2 out of 3 hetero marriages end in divorce.
