I don't understand your viewpoints, either.
I don't understand your point on not allow smoking in mall. That's one of example what people vote for! Boo!

What religious groups do is none of my business (as it is today). What the government do IS my business. I grew up within, what could be called, "a cult" and I know, within my heart's content, the difference. What religious people do is VERY different from what the government do.
These elections, across the board, has religion defining marriage for the government to define.
Religious institutions did marriages first. Why not let them have their marriage crap? And we just keep the legal aspect of it and call it something else? Why do you feel the need to hold on to the word "marriage"? Shouldn't you be more concerned that you're getting the same rights as a hetero couple? Rather than focusing on a word?

If I was you, I would avoid to use religious but alternative way to against.
. I was never affected when my aunt was a lesbian, because my mother was overprotected over me. I remember when I was a young kid, I was browsin' through my aunt's family photo album and I saw her name there along with other woman's name. My mother came and saw me with photo album book, she took that book from me and told me to mind my own business
If two adults want to marry each other, why do you want to make the government bother with it? Two consenting adults agree to marrying each other. Why does the government need to sneak into the bedroom?
They create babies without marrying isn't what I would recommend, but that's their business. The actual point is that same sexes marrying doesn't make any sense and destroy the family morality. It also confuse our children as role models, too.
Not wise and good way to allow them (same sexes) marry that way. It is immorality!

What more it gets baseless for anyone to argue about the prop 8 issue after the fact that all those states' ballots passed to ban them for now and time being, right?
If gays simply rephrase the term, "civil unions" instead of "gay marriage", no one would care.
I hope the court will throw out prop 8 based on illegal Constitution revision.
Why are you laugh? What are you wait for??? Kiss her, woman!

Because I like a man. The opposite sex I am attracted to. Listen, that " marriage " for man and a woman for many years and it is recognized by the state. I grew up IN THAT.

My mother came and saw me with photo album book, she took that book from me and told me to mind my own business. I was stunned and confused. I was the one who made a leather belt for my aunt from my old school and never thought that she was a lesbian. I just thought of her as my " aunt ". She is my mother's sister. Soo ... that was how I grew up. I was the only one in the family that wore a blindfold, not means to wear a blindfold, but it was my mother who hided me from seein' things that she don't want me to know.
But, I just learned from readin' several articles since last night about gay/lesbian people that they will receive more rights durin' Obama's presidency later on. So, please do not feel bad that I opposed marriage for gay/lesbian people. Okay ? It's just me -- it's the way I grew up.
Jillio, I want you to understand that it is NOT offensive when you mentioned about " bestiality " issue. I was tryin' to express what my feeling was when I brought that issue up relatin' to the same sex lifestyle. That feelin' is NOT okay when it comes to marriage for gay/lesbian people. It's MY feelin'. It doesn't mean that I hate them or what ever. I like to talk to them. I am aware of Byrdie's not straight and yet, I still like to chat with him. He is a cool guy and funny, too. I show my respect if, he choses to marry. There's nothin' I can do.
I have final word for you, good for you, you got choice for life.
Now, who cares about paint on gay marriage as religion issue, don't attempt to make excuses to take our rights away due religion reason on public area, that caused that I had almost lost totally respect from you, don't matters if it's your opinion. Gay people are deserves to have same rights as straight people does, period.
This thread need to be locked and anti-gay debate need to be done.
What is the alternative reason against two adults to marry?

It's kinda hard to avoid talking about religious stuff for this thread! Anyway, I know the government will never ban general marriage, so thumbs up for gay marriages. Just saying if the government is so intent on banning gay marriages then ban the hetero ones too! To me, it's either ban them all or allow them all.
She isn't alone here.
In case you forgot that it were the majority voting the four-state ballots where it bans same sex marriage, not by religion institutions this time.
I think this thread should be moved to the closet forum, indeed. But that is the mod and/or thread creator's decision.
That's sad because you were denied to know who the special person was in your aunt's life.
Because it was the heterosexuals that introduced the government into the bedroom by demanding they wanted "marriage licensces".
Now they (heterosexuals) can't be married long as it's a known fact that 2 out of 3 marriages in this country ends up in divorce.
It's already being challenged due to the fact that the Supreme Court of California has already declared it unconstitutional before the Amendment was passed.
Secondly--they are already honoring the 18,000 couples that already got married. Again splitting a segment of the population again, real smart.
I laugh for the same reason everyone laughs. I find something funny.
I have my right to entitle my own opinion. You can't change my opinion. End of discussion!
