Yes, I respect your view on Boot Army. Yes I disagree what and how they did to troubled teens at Boot Army is my opinion.
Can you please quit calling it "Boot Army".

The rehab camps for troubled teens and the basic training for American military are NOT the same thing. The Army is not involved with troubled teens.

This is one big reason why I don't like the term "boot camp" being used for teenage rehab programs. Just because they wear "uniforms" and use some military terminology, they have nothing to do with real military training.

The term "boot camp" in the US military means recruit military training for USN Sailors and USMC Marines.

The term "basic" in the US military means recruit military training for USAF Airmen and USA Soldiers.

Camp programs for troubled teens have nothing to do with the military.

that's true. gotta love these politically-incorrect terms.

I would like go to bootcamp for military training and would help me to losing the weight and increase of muscle.

I think Jiro should join too. :mad2:

I'm with most of Miss Bucket's posts. I do not support Boot Camp on troubled teens.

It's parent's job to find out something wrong with their teens. If I have problem with my teenage son then it's my job to find out myself and work out with him and tries to understand him and his feeling.

I learn from some threads for several years here negative over Boot Camps. Some teenagers killed by torture/abuse there and also including plenty of horrible links about them.

<excellent posting>

there are plenty of gym "boot camp" around. simply look it up and you'll find it.

At that time, he hadnt been properly diagnosed ...we all thought he was rebellious...finally, he was diagnosed at the age of 18.

How many kids that are sent to boot camps have misdiagnosed or undiagnosed mental illness? I would be interested to know.

I wonder same for prisons and mental institutions and medications.

that is my point - parents have done everything as much as they can but the problem is not fixed. what's next? boot camp

some... how many is that?

Some is too much. Even if only one person in boot camp is abused, that is one too many.

one person harmed by the troubled teen is one far too many.

I agree. But see there is a crucial difference between a teenager getting in a car accident or hurting others. They're not being forced by other people to crash a car. The part that scares me the most about boot camps is that parents subject their children to this. That really freaks me out that parents can lose so much sense of compassion to the point that they consciously decide to subject their own child to an abusive situation. If you decide for yourself to go to a boot camp, all right. You submitted yourself to it, it was your decision. But to have your own parents, who are supposed to love you, force you into it is a whole different story.

Oooohhhh it´s Boot Camp, I´m referring to, not Boot Army. Why do you jump on me when you know that it´s my error when I suggest Jiro to re-read your post 3 that Boot camp and Miltary boot camp are not same thing in my post No. 79. I confused with those words when I debated with Jiro. Boot camp for troubled teens should be correction, not Boot Army.

Jiro, please re-read Reba´s post... that´s exactly what I tried to explain you that Boot camp and military boot camp are not same thing...

and please re-read all of my posts because you have a tendency to get easily confused.

you keep keep keep keep forgetting that all options have been exhausted. You need to act fast because once the child is 18 years old, he/she's out of your hands and there's nothing you can do about it. you basically failed your duty as parents because you did not want to take extreme measure... such as boot camp... and because of that - that person poses a danger to public. it's only matter of time till that person goes to jail after harming somebody.

now do you understand my position on boot camp? I'm not talking about an easy cop-out for parents to send their kids to boot camp after just several weeks of therapy sessions. Again - I repeat in a bold, bigger font - IT IS A LAST RESORT OPTION.

Well, I don´t support driving for teens. There´re debate in my thread.

http://www.alldeaf.com/topic-debate...le-should-permitted-have-drivers-license.html

Anyway, your comparison over physical abuse and DUI\senseless driving is a fallicious.

I used teen driving example because you used "some deaths from boot camp" as reason for not supporting boot camp. so I used "teen deaths from driving" in return. Capisce?

I have decided to not debate with you any further. You cannot even follow a simple argument. It's pointless and unnecessary waste of my time to debate with you. seems like you like to throw around "fallacious" word even though you did not use it properly. oh well it's been fun.
