BS, MLK Jr. isn't republican and 1960's are very different from today.

so typical of Republicans to cling onto past instead of going forward. I'm sorry but Reaganism is long gone.

Time to stop clinging onto past to generate hype if you're not going to use the past.

So, you mean to say that MLK accepted, embraced the values and principles by Democrats in the 1950s and 1960s? Which party would he most likely to have aligned with then based on principles alone? Democrats or Republicans?

MLK Jr. wasn't registered of both parties so your question is not applied.

Yes, I would think MLK would've been a Republican today. Just as there are many blacks who are Republicans today.

False, I live in state with 30% of black population and most of them are democrat, even black belt went to blue too.

MLK Jr. wasn't republican, nor is democrat, period.

You don't understand. This has nothing to do with registering to a party. Blacks weren't allowed to vote prior to 1965. It's the principles that he was most aligned to and that was on the Republican's side when it came to the right to vote, desegregation, civil rights and so on.

you don't understand. MLK has never declared any political affiliation (even if they weren't allowed to vote).

I didn't say he is for a fact but that he would most likely be aligned with the principles of the Republican party at that time (meaning in 1950s and 60s). Certainly it wouldn't be the Democrats which is obvious to see why. But for me, personally, I think he would be a Republican/Conservative *today* seeing the history. MLK Jr's neice believes the same thing today.
