"I've been told I hate myself. I've been called an Uncle Tom. I've been told I'm a spook at the door," said Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, a group of black conservatives who support free market principles and limited government.

"Black Republicans find themselves always having to prove who they are. Because the assumption is the Republican Party is for whites and the Democratic Party is for blacks," he said.

How many of you actually believe that? (see bold)

I certainly don't.

It's because many Liberals/Democrats believe in the myth that there is no such thing as a black Republican, otherwise they'd be called a "sellout." Nice. Or for that matter any ethnicity outside the lily white skin can a person run as a Republican. That's been changing over the years despite the fact that black Americans have a long history in the Republican party despite rumors to what many people believe. They've been called "sellouts," "Uncle Toms," "slave," etc... all those derogatory underpinning in the effort to quash their conservative beliefs and how they share the same concerns on issues that affect us today (and into the future).

Maybe....just maybe for once people will read this article. But I doubt some of you people will. Is it because some of ya'll are still clinging to that myth? I hope not.

really? so do you have any credible source (for the sake of credibility) that such myth is held by many Liberals/Democrats?

all you talk about black peepz in every threads. DC has a large number of black people that you used to live there. I love DC, though. ha!

So? I lived elsewhere growing up, especially in the south. DC wasn't it. You actually have a problem with this or what?

O.o

oOoOoO sounds like somebody's coffee maker broke.

what problem did I have? :hmm:

i believe none hon.... cuz your coffee maker is working and you had your usual cup in the morning. perhaps you might want to share it with him

Yea I have plenty of leftover cold coffee at home. i can give it to him if he wants, does he want, just a black coffee? :aw:

So, you don't have problem with me talking about black Republicans/people? Otherwise you would not have brought up the DC comment.

White just become weaker and mutt. You can say that there are plenty of diverse people who are on rampage taking over the high positions. thats no problem for me because i am not pure white. Having diversed people in reality is cool.

"Uncle Tom"? How is it YOUR problen? Leave that issue for the African-American community to sort it out. They are the ones who are using those terminology against each others.

Sit back, relax. I don't see any white or Asian liberals accusing a black person of being an Uncle Tom. Sometimes it's best not to make other people's issues your own.

Where did I say it was my problem? Did you not read the link I posted? I am pointing out some of the facts here. Relax, dude. Are you done with your soapbox finger waggling now? I've a right to this opinion as anyone else here. And I do agree with what Timothy Johnson said.

That's what you said about Scott Brown not winning the Senate seat in Massachusetts.

I'm not talking about Scott Brown.

He is already in senate now so we are talking about candidates that who is running for congress.

I DISAGREE with many of conservative agenda so they aren't get my vote.

Why, Because they are black?

No, most black people are usually side with Democratic Party.

Black candidates have better chance if they are running in conservative district like AL 5th congressional district to compete against other conservative politicians.

AL 7th congressional district is solid democrat so it means black democrats will win by mile.

Now, I have say good luck to them, anyway.

Again, I disagree with many of conservative views so that why I don't want them to win, regardless on race.

I really dont' care if the running candidates are white, black, red, orange or speckled....as long as they're honest and hard working and live up to their campaign promises....God forbid we have another Black Mayor such as Marion Barry (N.Y.)....

I have to agree with you on that one.
