Beatdown of transgendered in Baltimore, MD McDonalds

Yeah, I saw the video on Fox news earlier today. Dang, the similar hate crime situation on transgenders happened to my bestie and her friend here in Long Island around 10 years ago. Some young men in a car on the road, yelled in homophobia slurs and threw glass bottle at them, luckily they ducked and her friend gave them the middle finger, the men came back around to chase them in attempt to harm them more but my friends got away and hid.

I don't know if this is a hate crime, a stupid brawl, or what. I will refrain myself from assuming. One thing for sure, the guy filming it and laughing and all that jazz is definitely revolting to me.

People talk about one room unisex bathroom and multi stall same sex bathrooms as if they are the only options. In Paris, I went into a unisex MULTI-stall bathroom. It was a little odd, but I don't see the problem with doing this? Everyone still has their privacy.
Sometimes women perform more functions in a restroom than men do. We would like a little privacy for those functions.

Did the multi unisex bathroom include urinals?

Will men put up with waiting in lines the way women do?

I know of many trans folks - including my friends - who have been mistreated in various ways because they were specifically trans; it's a disgustingly common shameful thing...

Well, it's even worse for a former lesbian mother who is reborn Christian and using to preach gospels (in Exodus) as a verbally abuse form on her own son who has been a transgendered girl since he was 2 years old.

I don't know or understand why because of no subtitle. But I agreed with another members; a whole situation is terribly wrong.

I remember I was in a bus and headed for home from my old work, I saw some gangs were fought. They were near to me and other people. It was so scary! I'm so glad nobody but gangs is hurt. They hit and kicked each other, though one of gangs kicked toward one another guy who was sat right next to me...

It was happened in July 26, 2007. Frightened... :(
Don't worry about the sounds in the video. Most of it can't be understood, just people scream and fighting. Their speech is not captured well. The only thing is some guys are laughing in the back, that's the only thing that is noticeable out of it.

That sounds terrible what you went through! You must have been scared a lot.

There were no urinals. It was just like a women's restroom except men use it, too.

I'm sure men wouldn't put up with waiting in lines, but women don't want to wait in lines either. I don't remember waiting in line for this particular bathroom, even though I remember there were a lot of people in it. It was inside a huge mall.

Psst... Reba... what other functions do women do in a bathroom? Number 1, Number 2, freshen up (ex. putting on makeup, brush hair, etc.)..... Am I the worst "lady" ever or is there something else I should know about....?

Maybe I see and hear more going on in the college restrooms. :giggle:

Personally, I don't want guys around while I'm brushing and flossing my teeth, doing my makeup, blotting a spill off my clothing, or repairing a tear or missing button.

Girls also use restrooms for private chit-chat, changing clothes, bird baths, and taking care of monthly business. We need more counter space at the sink, and longer time in the stalls.

Do guys really want to know everything that women do?

As a woman, I'm not interested in sharing in the guys' bodily functions either. I'm sure they're not dainty about using public facilities. (Sometimes I can hear them thru the shared wall, and that's bad enough.)

And we won't lift the lid either! If you heard what comes out of most men in the restroom you would all be lesbians.

Heck, I don't even bother with the make-up and the hair in a public rest room. In and out is my policy!:P

I am not offended, but I disagree that it wasn't discrimination. It was. A few times I had to eat in fast food joints in East St. Louis, and I would get razzed, since I was the only whitey in the place. It never got out of hand, though, since while it happened, I made sure to make eye contact with others in the establishment, and they stepped in to cool things down. Racism is alive and well in people of all colors, but there are decent folk among them. I am surprised no one stopped the attack in the video, but oh well.

I have been reading the thread comments about this issue. I too saw the video and was thoroughly disgusted. Did anyone read the comments made by folks on the video site? I had wondered if anyone here would bring up the whole black/white racial issue.

The only one who tried to help this poor person was another WHITE woman. ALL of the employees were black. I hate that is the way it is...but that's the way it is. Where I grew up I had plenty of friends who just happened to have dark skin...never thought anything of it and they never thought anything about me being 'white' skinned. When I grew up and moved to a bigger town/city I found myself on the receiving end of some nasty racism...and I wasn't doing anything but walking to the store and minding my own business. A bunch of black girls calling me things like, "White cracker whore" "Filthy white bitch" and so on...threatening to kill me even if I didn't get my "...white ass back home where it belonged..." and all that. That was my first run in with racism. I was about 23 then. Frankly I had never heard any of my white friends even so much as use any racial remarks.

This whole thing wasn't just about whether or not this person a transexual...although that is what the media is jumping on...anything to avoid calling this sitch what it is. An out and out racially motivated attack. ALL of the employees and the damned manager should have been fired and the owner's business license revoked...but hey...then we'd have Al Sharpton and others like him screaming racism if that happened. Sadly, the only reason any justice might get done over this is because of the whole transsexual/intersexed issue. I live in Athens, GA...I have a lot of friends who just happen to have dark skin...and you know what they said about this? They called them girls that dreaded 'n' word...and said "*n word* like that is why people hate *n word*...and I don't blame them...I do too!"

It is so sad that shit like this still happens. It all so stupid.

OMGs! Why would she do this to her own kid? Yeah...loads of love and acceptance there...

Some guys just laughed?? Ugh. But I see mizwytch's comment about racial remarks, through I didn't attention to their skins. I already read some comments. Interesting... Still, it is so so so wrong.

Oh, yeah. But I was okay and unharmed. I did tell my family and Elva what happened. I don't know why they argued about. They seemed to be their rivals to each other. So I dunno... But they did scare people and me, especially few little kids. Sighs.

Shel90 -- Nah, I'm not offended. You're right about some women's violence. It is really shame... We should push sexism down to reduce the number... I know it is impossible to slay all racism, sexism, and etc etc. Still it is better to lower the number of hate crimes and criminal stuff.

My hubby is black and he said black girls like those in the videos are scumbags.

My hubby has overheard black women saying stuff like "White whore ..get your own kind, bitch!" directed at me whenever we go into the city. Being deaf, I dont hear them but my hubby always informs me later because I always ask him if anyone has said anything to me. I can always feel some kind of bad vibes and know that most likely racial slurs were hurled at me so I would ask my hubby later. I told him that he better be honest with me. So far, he has...or at least I hope!

It sucks!

I agree with your hubby...and he sounds like a good man! Sounds like he's been honest with you about it...or else he probably just wouldn't tell you anything.

The first time I had to deal with that racial shit I was gobsmacked. I was like, "WTF?" The attitudes of the people in the video and the violence does nothing to improve anything on any level. Bigotry is just plain stupid and frankly a skank is a skank. I just don't get the whole issue with someone's skin color. Just stupid.

dont get me wrong..I have lots of friends who are black women but they are the kind who have nothing to do with the ghetto culture. My hubby hates hates the ghetto culture.

Ah...I think I am beginning to see now...it's isn't about the skin color...it's a 'cultural' thing. This 'getto culture' thing...what exactly is it? It doesn't sound so much like culture but more like a really bad attitude.:hmm:

See, none of our friends, irregardless of skin color, have these 'cultural' issues...hell, we got plenty of Asian, Indian and have even made a few friends from Egypt. None of us has "cultural" issues. Religion and politics are rarely, if ever discussed...(that's just prudent in any case.LOL)...but no "cultural" issues.
