Beatdown of transgendered in Baltimore, MD McDonalds

That's right. You're just counting on no one reading them all because you know that I'm right.

That's ridiculous. Throughout this entire thread I've stated over and over, from the beginning (post #2), that anyone who attacks another person should be fully prosecuted.

Too late. They have already been read and opinions formed.:cool2:

And they are fully prosecuted according to the law. Hate law when it involves a protected group in society.

So what is your point?

Well, yes, people can form the wrong opinions. Nothing anyone can do about that.

And they are fully prosecuted according to the law. Hate law when it involves a protected group in society.

That you do misrepresent my posts.

I guess you added this edit after I replied.

Change which law specifically?

The laws pertaining hate crimes, since that is the one at the moment that seems to be under your craw.

Good. Hate crime and assault should have been the charges. I do hope that they follow recommended maximun sentencing guidelines in the case of a guilty verdict....which shouldn't be difficult for the prosecutor to achieve given the video.

Perhaps it will send a message to all regarding the destructive nature of hate just because another is different.

Interesting point:

"People who watched the video may feel that the attack was clearly a hate crime, but it is important for the evidence to be there for the charges, said National Center for Transgender Equality board member Dana Beyer, who has been working with Polis since incident.

'If there is no hate crime enhancement, the public can get very upset. Our position is that it doesn't benefit anyone to have the law applied indiscriminately,' Beyer said. 'It cheapens it. It's always a difficult call.'"

South Carolina has no hate crime laws, so there's nothing for me to advocate a change in.

This whole "hate crime" sure sounds like a double jeopardy thing.
Double jeopardy means trying a person again for the same crime after being acquitted the first time. In states where they have hate crimes, they are usually charged at the same time, during the same trial, as the other crimes that occurred during the same event.

More time educating yourself, and less time listening to bathering conservative articles that you try to repeat and end up looking like an uninformed person.

Obviously, you didn't know the meaning, or you never would have used the article to make yourself sound like you knew what you were talking about.

hyperbolic rhetoric is part of business....
