Beatdown of transgendered in Baltimore, MD McDonalds

I probably will offend some people by this comment....

I am so not surprised at the behavior of the women who live in Baltimore City. I see this kind of aggressiveness from many of the women who live in the bad areas of Baltimore. They are very very violent and like Beachgirl said, they just wanted to find an excuse to beat the crap out of someone. Girls like these are very common around here. They will beat anyone up so I am always careful not to make eye contact with them.

I would bet many dollars that it wasnt discrimination.

These girls are probably bragging about this video to their community. Wouldnt be surprised.

I am not offended, but I disagree that it wasn't discrimination. It was. A few times I had to eat in fast food joints in East St. Louis, and I would get razzed, since I was the only whitey in the place. It never got out of hand, though, since while it happened, I made sure to make eye contact with others in the establishment, and they stepped in to cool things down. Racism is alive and well in people of all colors, but there are decent folk among them. I am surprised no one stopped the attack in the video, but oh well.

The one lady tried to intervene but she didn't have the physical ability to stop the fight. She ended up with black eye for her efforts.

You've got a valid point. Young female violence is on the rise, unfortunately.
Yes, it's a sad situation.

It used to be that the presence of women was considered a civilizing influence. Men would behave better and language would be cleaned up when women were present.

Now, it's the opposite effect. Women pick up the bad habits of the men now. :(

Besides her, I mean. Yeah, bless her kind soul. I am sure she is disgusted with the world but has no regrets for having tried to help.

**nodding** It has done a complete turn around. I am not sure when it started to happen.

You're right. The staff at McDonalds could have done more.

I'm sure that lady has no regrets. She probably is very disappointed with the people at McDonalds, at the least. I hope she switches to Dunkin' Donuts or Friendly's for her senior citizen goodies. :)

I agree. I wonder if that establishment offered to pay her medical bills? Probably not. I hate to sound sue-happy, but...

I was speaking of discrimination against transexuals. I know that Baltimore is full of people who are very different so I am pretty sure that they have seen or even are friends with transexuals.

However, beating her up because she is white is probably very true. Many of these aggressive black women from the city have made nasty comments about me being with my husband. My husband hears them and informs me and tells me to ignore them because they are just looking for an excuse to kick my ass. It seems like there is this deep hatred for white women who take the "good" black men from them.

:dunno: This is from the link:

"A female bystander told cops that when she tried to break up the fight, the suspects punched her in the face, which 'caused her to become disoriented.' Police noted that the woman, who declined medical treatment, had 'redness around her right eye which is consistent with someone punching her in the face.'"

(I said black eye because by now the redness has changed into a bruise.)

I'm sure they would say that they aren't responsible because she chose to put herself in harm's way.

The victim has a prostitution record, and the two attackers looked kinda skanky to me, so I wonder if it was a case of someone infringing upon someone else's territory? :hmm:

That still doesn't justify the attack but it could be a motive.

:hmm: Very possible.

Rebuttal would be, if the staff had done their job she wouldn't have to step in.

There are also Good Samaritan laws and principles that come into play.

Finally, if she has a civil case with a jury trial, and they show the video, she has a good chance of getting the jury on her side.

Maybe it won't come to that.

Or maybe they were upset the victim could do trick shots into the toilet? :hmm:

Oh, I agree. I can think of several valid rebuttals.:P Just giving an iindication of what their initial response would probably be. The concept, "Not my responsibility" is way overused in this day and time!

I would hope it wouldn't come to that. A responsible business would make an attempt to compensate this woman in some way, even if through recognition of her bravery, before they were forced to do so in a court of law.

I don't know if this is a hate crime, a stupid brawl, or what. I will refrain myself from assuming. One thing for sure, the guy filming it and laughing and all that jazz is definitely revolting to me.

People talk about one room unisex bathroom and multi stall same sex bathrooms as if they are the only options. In Paris, I went into a unisex MULTI-stall bathroom. It was a little odd, but I don't see the problem with doing this? Everyone still has their privacy.

It is also possible it can be a combination of all of the issues presented.

Blacks see whites, wary and cautious. Maybe the transgendered person is hitting on someone in the restaurant, and they didn't like that at first. Or the bathroom peek issue, and found out he was a guy.

There is an interview with Chrissy Lee Polis (the 22yr old transgendered) by the Baltimore Sun, it is not transcribed but it's all over youtube. I'll refrain from posting it here until someone gets the time to put up a summary or transcript.
