Baby No. 17 For Duggars Coming Soon

Wow, that's too many children for sure, also I can't afford or handle that.

Congrat to Duggars to get 17th child soon.

lets say.. its their family not your family..

i belive that the duggers are hard working family.. and hard earned.. keep in mind, each child can cost 5,000 to 10,000 a year. depend on how fancy the food is,, how fancy the room, bed, clothing is.

i can see that most large family have good manners, good role model, good money budget... i believe that the duggers aren't greedy like liebig says about the food-father sitution.

yet they might have debts.. but sadly more than 80% of americans are on debt. but once the child is on their own.. and gone.. they can catch up.. to me seems that they aren't worry about money.. thats a good postive attidude.. like money isn't important... most family who think that money is the most important to them tend to have no kids, or few kids and work-olic.

I'm sure many many older kids help their parents.. thats normal.. and i believe that's good.. good to learn to be a good parenting. it doesn't mean they force them. a good family means a family that helps eachother. if ur family member won't help you at all.. is that a good family? if you think thats a good family tell me about it.

So if the Duggars were an atheist Deaf family it would make a difference?
Reba, sorry but that's a little extreme. The Duggars ARE very conservative. If I recall correctly, they don't believe that women should go to college, except to earn a degree in Christian homemaking. From what I've read about them, they're the type who would consider Bob Jones to be "too libral"....I also recall reading that they are very conservative about the meida they allow in their children's lives.......it's basicly just 100% specificly "Christian" stuff.

I don't know. I'd like to read those statements for myself, if you have the links.

I can understand 6 kids (my own grandmother had 7 kids herself) but I don't understand 17! That's...gotta be overwhelming. :eek3: Sometimes it seems like it's a freaking contest to see who can pop out the most kids.

When we have children I only want 2.

It's common for Dutch families to have a lot of children. It was like that too with Catholic families back in the old days.

Give me a week or so....I'm pretty sure I've read in various and sundry places, that they are VERY conservative, even for strict Baptists. Like the kind who would send their kids to Hyles-Andersen b/c Bob Jones glorifies Satan through its involvement in the arts world.

The Duggars doesnt have any debts at all.. ZIP!!!!!

One question... Are any of these kids going to school? Or are they all home schooled? because when i Looked through their website.. all I saw was "bible study, independent studies, teaching the younger kids". So I'm guessing they're all homeschooled?

Yes they are home schooled. You may will see them on TV on TLC.

Yeah, they're homeschooled. I feel sorry for them.

A lot of my friends that were homeschooled had a very difficult time adapting in the real world and making friends because they weren't among other students.

Too bad we can't force sterilization on this woman!

wow, I'm sure you meant that in jest, but as someone who has had people tell her that she should be sterilized so her children don't become a burden on society (my loss is genetic), I kind of surprised to read that here of all places.

Not trying to be rude.

I m saying that gays people contribute to lessen the rate of births. Most of the time gays people adopt the rejected children. Got it ?

not at all, considering it's illegal for that in most states. They look into surrogacy and sperm donors.

Thoughts of a Regular Guy: More On The Duggar Family

Some interesting debate about the Duggars in this link. I foung this interesting...

Give me a break! First of all, do you think that their new home, the labor that it took to build it, and all of its new contents were bough with Mr. Duggar's hard earned dollars? Puh-leez! Ever heard of charitable donations? Ever time you see a brand name flash across the screen some company is getting free advertising and they gave up something, namely free products to get it. Why do you think they were shocked to see their new living room set, their new outdoor grill, their new GRAND PIANO...because it was all given to them! Like some many freakish families with huge broods, the Duggars have learned to cash in. It's great exposure for all of the companies involved and the American public's heart strings get tugged when we see tears of gratitude running down Mama Duggar's face. They are being rewarded for breeding exponentially. Whatever. That infuriates me. There are many a middle class family out there with one or two kids who are struggling to make it, but Mama Duggar and her brood get a free grand piano because she squeezed out 16 kids. I say, why don't we all have 16 kids, get 20 acres, and try get as much in the way of pity donations as possible? We can all live off of our land and home school our kids without a care in the world that global resources are dwindling and our miniture tribe is putting even greater pressure on a very stressed earth. We can sleep in peace in our 7000 square feet homes knowing that familes half the size of ours squeeze into 1/100 of the space we live in and many adoptable children go with food, shelter, or any family to call their own everyday.

It's not true, at least from the shows I've seen. Mr. Duggar owned a car dealership and was very successful. The house was built by him and his son. Working as they paid for supplies.

I don't really care one way or another, there are bigger fish to fry than whether the duggar's add another to what seems to be a happy family.

I thought Mr. Duggar ran some kind of convenience/grocery store(s) not a car dealership in Arkansas.

The show I watched on TLC ("14 and Pregnant Again") told how they met and the beginning of their marriage. He sold cars if my memory is right. I googled their name, can't find anything on their website.

The Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Family

Ok, I googled Duggar and "car dealership"...many message boards saying what I said. Not a big deal, he was financially successful before all the kids.

duggar "car dealership" - Google Search

As long as they can afford them all and all the children are cared for (how you can split your love and attention 17 ways is beyond me...), let them have however many they want!

Being tore up and saggy x 17 = Not for this woman :nono:
