Arizona governor signs immigration bill

What exactly are you trying to imply? Obama said Congress should pass a bill on the national level making illegal immigrants legal.

That, my friend, is amnesty. No, it hasn't happened .... yet.

I did not imply anything. I asked you a question for clarification because you make it sound as if Obama has already granted amnesty for illegals. So you made it perfectly cleared that Obama has not granted amnesty to illegals. There you go.

Can you please show me the source on your statement in red bold?

So, is it a "civil right" to enter the US illegally or not?

Its a simple yes or no answer. Not complicated at all.

oh boy.... I'll let people explain it to you why that question does not make any sense at all. Meanwhile - I'll be waiting for your answer to my coherent question - "do you think illegals should not have civil rights when they're in this country illegally?"

Its very simple ... yes or no.

then help me understand your question. or better yet - work on it and come back to me with a coherent question.

I will make it even more simple (a 3rd grader can answer the prior question). Here you go, multiple choice.

If someone commits a crime, such as crossing a border illegally, is this action a "civil right" or is it a crime?

a) crime
b) civil right
c) the question makes no sense and I will feign ignorance

question #2

If someone commits a crime, such as illegally entering the United States, the government should

a) treat them the same as a law abiding United States Citizen by giving them civil rights
b) deport them

A. it's a crime to cross the border illegally anywhere in the world. Civil Rights has nothing to do with prior to crossing the border. Now - since we got that cleared up for you... what about AFTER crossing the border illegally? do you believe the illegals are not entitled to Civil Rights AFTER crossing the border?

b. which has been the federal policy for decades. but can you explain more about your multiple choice a?

The problem with this question is that it's being phrased as if United States isn't a country at all, or is part of another country.

Kinda like the NAU...

You are aware that even US citizens, when convicted of a crime, lose their rights don't you? Such as voting rights (just being one).

Why give rights to non-US citizens who are here illegally? Exactly what is Obama trying to accomplish?

from the article in link #181

The president, speaking at a ceremony to naturalize two dozen immigrant U.S. troops, said the fact that Arizona is acting on its own is evidence that Congress need to pass a broad bill legalizing illegal immigrants at the national level.

He wants to give ILLEGAL non US citizens the right to vote.

yes. and gun rights. :)

Why give rights to non-US citizens who are here illegally?
what rights?

Exactly what is Obama trying to accomplish?
I know what he's trying to accomplish but what are you trying to accomplish? I have no idea since you're making baseless claims so I assume you're employing the same ole' right-wingers' fear-mongering tactic.

source please? I asked you for this several times and you haven't given me any source yet. SOURCE PLEASE?

I said it before, and I will say it again. Post #181 from this thread.

I even quoted what the article said in my previous post.

What exactly are the implications of making an illegal immigrant a legal citizen?

Voila .... the right to vote. I wonder, who will they vote for?

I have checked and found nothing that supports your claim. Did you stop at one line? So selective.....

Here's an article with more details that requires some advanced level of critical thinking. Yes it's the very same legislation that was strongly supported by President George W. Bush but failed to gain political support. :eek3:

Obama to Push Immigration Bill as One Priority
But, he said, immigrants who are long-time residents but lack legal status “have to have some mechanism over time to get out of the shadows.”
Administration officials said that Mr. Obama’s plan would not add new workers to the American work force, but that it would recognize millions of illegal immigrants who have already been working here. Despite the deep recession, there is no evidence of any wholesale exodus of illegal immigrant workers, independent studies of census data show.
In broad outlines, officials said, the Obama administration favors legislation that would bring illegal immigrants into the legal system by recognizing that they violated the law, and imposing fines and other penalties to fit the offense. The legislation would seek to prevent future illegal immigration by strengthening border enforcement and cracking down on employers who hire illegal immigrants, while creating a national system for verifying the legal immigration status of new workers.

the very essence of this immigration reform is to tackle the issue with illegals CURRENTLY living in American for a long time.... not granting amnesty or a legal citizenship to any future illegals.

You still missed my entire point.

Will these "current" criminals be given the right to vote?

Yes, Obama wants them to vote him back in to office in 2012.

And why give them rights - it doesn't matter if they were here yesterday or from 10 years ago. It doesn't matter if they are "current" or not.
