CA Codes (pen:833-851.90)

So, why is debt-ridden California boycotting Arizona again?

because it's illegal
Does California boycott every place that does something it perceives to be illegal? Do they do business with China, for example?

Reba...oooooh, good, good point!! It's "illegal" here but it's not over there. Nice logic in that. Nothing illegal in the bill that I can see. It follows the Federal requirement in the first place.

was there something illegal going on in China?

It's called "human rights violations", not to mention disregard for environmental regulations. Supposedly, those kinds of violations should be anathema to Californians. No?

1. California laws are not applicable in China. with that logic - California would not do business with any other states since our environmental regulations are below California standard
2. human rights violation? like what? If I recall correctly - before doing business, the Americans make sure it abides by its term of contract such as no child labor.

Jiro, you have over 30,000 posts in just a few years here. Don't you think you should take more time to learn stuff rather than spouting stuff? I mean, being wrong once in a while is fine- we all are, but this is pretty basic stuff.

Basic stuff...

Here's the longest run-on sentence I've encountered in a long time.

The California Chamber of Commerce, in keeping with long-standing policy, enthusiastically supports free trade worldwide, expansion of trade and investment, fair and equitable market access for California products abroad and elimination of disincentives that impede the international competitiveness of California business and, further, while the Chamber deplores human right abuses in China and elsewhere around the world, has supported extension of Permanent Normal Trade Relations trade status and accession to the World Trade Organization for the People's Republic of China as an important step toward greater respect for human rights and political freedom for the Chinese people, since U.S. trade and investment provide crucial support for the entrepreneurial forces in Chinese society that advocate further economic and political reform.
China - California Chamber of Commerce

Even the California Chamber of Commerce recognizes the abuses and gross violations in China.

I never understood people who keep track of the number of posts an ADer make in a certain amount of time. Who really gives a f**? That always puzzles me when people do that. Is it to put someone down or something?

I don't care if someone makes a billion posts as long as they're well-informed and coherent. If not, they're better off spending their time learning stuff than pontificating. That's why I don't have that many posts- because there's too much I don't know for me to litter up this site with posts on things I know little about. I mostly post if I know something about the topic and have something coherent to say about it.
