Are We Getting Lazy At Each & Every Generation?

Because it got to do with gender roles.

Traditionally, women were expected to behave a certain way and do certain tasks.

Men are basically... do whatever as long they're not showing signs of homosexuality.

Then...........

Nurturing is not given? wtf. Explain that to me.

There are women who abuse children. No big surprise considering that women are generally in charge of most child rearing. Women have power over children and may misuse that power. Often there are no other adults around when that happens.

Interesting.

Here is the book blurb:

Kimberly Alyn and Bob Phillips will show you how the gender lies you've been fed most of your life are affecting the way you view the opposite sex. They will provide a foundational framework of why you really are the way you are (regardless of gender), and how to better relate to not just the opposite sex, but everyone you work with, live with, and associate with. Maybe you're familiar with some of these gender myths:

* Women talk more than men
* Men are practical and women are romantic
* Women are emotional and men are tough
* Men retreat in conflict and women advance
* Women like to shop and men like to get in and get what they need and
get out!
* Men are natural leaders and women are natural followers
* Women need relationships and men need accomplishment
* Men are slobs and women are neat
* Women are feelers and men are thinkers
* Men like to conquer and women like to cuddle
* Women are dependent and men are independent
* Men are task-oriented and women are relationship-oriented
* Women are great listeners and men are not

So, according to this book, the belief that "men are slobs and women are neat" is a gender myth!

Hard to believe that some people would actually believe that solely based on gender differences. Thanks for the interesting tidbit, Reba.

Where did anyone say it was based solely on gender differences? Again, selective reading.

When you think about it, it really is.

Yeah looks like the creators of that movie did a great job with the laziness category. All the advertising and ease of life and everything causes a huge mess pretty much. I sure hope we don't see a real life version of Wall-E..

I hope we don't too. I think we can take Wall-E as a warning.
