Anyone own a gun?

I only had two....they were on the bottom. Those teeth were laying sideways and never came in. They hurt....and the stuff they had to pack them with tasted sooooo bad. I actually went to jobsites the day after I had them out.....no problem. But three days after that I had major pain.
hmmmm...yea that stuff tastes bad :)
My my my, ain't this a competition ;) I've had all four removed in October, anyone experience it more recently than me? Haaah!
No, I was 17ish maybe so that was over 10years ago :( U win! Dry sockets??
It felt like nothing. The BB that plunked me in the face on these multiple occasions hurt more.

Ok, I guess I have to believe you guys. I guess I can go hang out in the city without fear now :P

We could always shoot you in the leg for more proof:lol: Maybe that will help you fear of the city:lol:

California is anal about gun ownership, I have a gun safe that is taller than me but honestly... I prefer water guns :) I'm a mom and I also have a bullet wound on my foot (dont ask) so I prefer something with no casings  (cringes)

yep... my gun is illegal in CA

Good point :) A bee sting? come on really? I don't believe it! That's like saying breaking a bone feels like a snap and that isn't true, I should know!

yes. if your bone is full of meat especially thigh or arm - it's not so bad.

Try breaking your teeth at 7 separate times in your lifetime. I've gone to the dentist more than I should've only because of my stubbornness to wear a mouthpiece. :laugh2:

I keep a mod. 916 S&W 9MM . Very little target as it is expensive but makes for reasonable protection if needed. Yes I do keep it loaded with exception of one in chamber, just need to pull slide back and it's ready to go. They don't make very good rocks if unloaded and like the rifle, not really good bats either. No children in house and if young ones come around the gun goes out of sight and reach before they get in the door.

lol @ your Gotti comment. Gotti family are in jail right now except Gotti's wife and her kids. They are legit.

good story there, bro! about the ammo - yea I'm having tough time getting my hands on Federal & Winchester ammo for protection and Wolf ammo for competition. It's out of stock and the availability (at least in NJ) is usually within 2-3 months. :mad2:

Yes, John Jr was in jail, but got out. He was tried for four times on various charges including murder, but got acquitted four times in a row. Prosecutors wanted to try him again for the fifth time, but no luck unless he is doing something illegal, then different story.

Believe it or not, my supervisor was called as a potential juror for the Gotti Sr trial, but he was excused before the trial began. Wow.

Of course, my relative was in mob years ago....he was a well known person.

I had a relative that we don't mention. It brings too many memories of the Holocaust.

We don't claim him at all. He was Hitler's right hand man, Rudolph Hess. Arrgh!!! He was a detestable creature and not worth the light of day!!

Update to our family gun list:

Hubby bought a 9 mm Taurus PT 709 Slim semi-auto pistol today.

My sister bought a shotgun a few weeks ago. I do not know what kind, but she can shoot. We of the clan knew weapons as we grew up, lol. She can fieldstrip anything from a bb gun to an AK 47.
The only difference between her and myself is that she can shoot to kill, while I cannot. Ah well.

deafdyke, target shooting is a lot of fun. Our police station has an indoor range where officers can try new weapons or qualify for certain things. Nobody is allowed to use it 'just for fun'. There are a few ranges not too far from where I live but it can get to be an expensive hobby.

The mayor of my town just opened up an indoor range. It is equipped to handle sub .50 cal.

I have often thought that firearm safety should be taught in high school. This would insure that children are taught the hazards of handling firearms as well as to handle one safely. It would also educate them rather than having liberal anti-gun parents telling them that guns are evil.

I shoot often. I am a great shot too. My favorite gun in my collection is my CZ-82. I went to a long distance target shoot once with my Izmasch Dragunov. The target was the size of a Jeep and was 1,000 yards away. It was a lot of fun.

I want to get a Springfield Armory 1911. I have heard some very good things about the Springfield Armory and I also like the fact that Springfield is my country's oldest armory.

I agree. People don't realize that when you call 911, the police aren't there immediately. It can be 30 seconds if the officer is close by to several minutes. Seconds can be critical. The police get there as soon as they can, but if someone is walking into your bedroom at 3am you need to have the means to protect yourself and your family until the police arrive.

BTW, for those of you that ever get into this situation, make sure you tell the 911 operator that you have a gun. Remember, the officer doesn't know what you look like, and anyone with a gun is a danger....even if its the homeowner. Also, make sure to let them know if you are deaf or hard of hearing if that is the case.

Anybody own any Smith & Wesson's? I've looked at a few of them too, but didn't care for them much. The company makes great handcuffs (the only ones I use are S&W), but was never big on their gun line.

excellent advice sir. Also, police have a tendency to respond much more quickly when they realize you have a gun ;)

I would love to hear his review on it. I'm still looking for CCW pistol (slim and small). I've got about 3 months to decide because that's how long it takes for my town to process a handgun permit

It's a new model. I'll have to ask Hubby where he found out about it. We'll be going to the range Tuesday afternoon to try it out. So far, he likes the feel of it. It's smaller and lighter than his 9 mm High Point but it has all the features and 8-shot capacity like the larger gun. It will be much better for concealed carry.

I look forward to hearing your hubby's review on it!! I looked into Ruger LCP and it flunked my test. I refuse to entrust my life on gun that has mixed reviews.
