Anyone own a gun?

nasty!!! every gunner's worst nightmare... but did I read it correctly? He was using self-reloaded ammo?? that might explains why

It might ... methinks he reloaded hot.

I never shoot reloads. The reason why is because I personally do not know enough about the process. I know some people who reload for economical reasons, I would like to learn how someday ... but right now it just seems "scary" to shoot reloads.

We're the same way.

I have an uncle who lives in Arizona that is an avid reloader. However, he is also a Viet Nam veteran, 3 purple heart recipient, as well as received numerous prestigious merit awards.

In addition to that, he was also selected to award the Navajo Warriors from WWII the Warrior Medal of Valor for their service as code talkers.

He is also a Duty Master Sergeant with the Arizona Rangers Company 11.

So, if he gave me a large crate of his personal reloaded ammo ..... I still would not shoot it :giggle:

He is my hero .... he and I discussed ASL and the Navajo Language - very interesting discussion indeed.

I also learned about my Native American Heritage from him (I did not know I was part Miami Indian until he told me).

I still won't shoot his ammo LOL

When I was growing up on the farm, every night after supper in late summer we would shoot clay birds in the cow yard with our shotguns with reloads done by our neighbor. Never had a problem...maybe its a little different/"safer" with shotgun loads? Also, I said "late summer" because we were priming for upcoming pheasant seasons. Duck, too.

Which caliber did you get it in?

.45

Its not an M1911 (my bad) its either 1911 A1 or A2 (its the tactical GI full size).

I need to get some decent grips, I don't like the stock grips at all.

Oh .... and another trigger.

and .... better sights

......and

LOL

I agree

I read somewhere that the .45 1911 was designed for US Army when they invaded Cuba to take down charging enemies who were high on drugs.

I mean, a 9 mm is great, but I would not want it for someone hopped up on meth.

Besides, I have some wild (very large) animals in my area. Like - Bears and mountain lions. I want one shot to drop it if I have too.

I have already lost my dog to a mountain lion :(

Thing came out of nowhere ...... fast.

not mine ... but one like it:

I have a Marlin 22 and an old 45. I am still a crack shot. Granny Nana can shoot.

I absolutely love your avatar :giggle:

My grandmother surprised me this past summer. I took her to see her sister in Arizona (they had not seen each other in 10 years) for my grandmother's 80th birthday.

When she got in my truck, I was very hesitant to tell her I kept a Taurus 9mm in my glove box. But I needed to tell her because its a long trip to Arizona, and wanted her to know it was there before she found it "accidentally".

So I told her ... "Grandma, there is something you need to know, I carry a gun in my glovebox ... remember what happened to Michael Jordan's dad ....."

She stopped me right there. She said it was the smartest thing to do, to keep a gun in the glovebox, and she wanted to see it and know how to operate it.

Well, it was a long trip to Arizona ... and my grandmother kept me entertained with stories about how she was the best shot in her town when she was young. She grew up in Indiana in a farming community. She used to hunt with her dad ....

I never knew my grandmother ever shot a gun in her life ... let alone was the best shot in her town LOL.

just so you know - the law has changed and now the BB gun can be treated as real weapon.
