Anime versus Disney

Disney Lasts Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol... anime covers a wide variety of interests and Disney is mostly kids flicks. However, I still like both, even though I'm more into anime now.

I didn't think much of Love Hina... not really my type of anime, I prefer fantasy and sci fi anime... and adventure as well. But it's not bad.
I love "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust" as it is proably one of the fantasy/horror animes ever made.

I just wonder if they'll make the third one soon, hmmm?

The orginal was back in 1984. ;) yes 20 years ago when it was first released into the US, showing the birth of popularity in the word, "Anime".

same here.

I remember that Robotech was the first anime cartoon I saw. My first reaction was that Robotech was a cheap cartoon but later I accept anime is another form of cartoon. I guess I was too used to cel type of cartoon like Disney, Warner Bros., and Hanna Barbara.

Thanks to Streamline Pictures, Robotech is a piece of shit hacked up to bits that it barely made any sense! :madfawk:

Thanks to AnimEigo, you can get the original: Macross series!!!

eh, I like Gundam W and Transformers alot better than Robotech...PERIOD.

I just watched Akira, supposedly one of the greatest anime movies ever made but I didn't see what was so "great"... however, I quite liked it and it wasn't a bad flick. I'm looking forward to watching Samurai X.

it was great because it KICKED FRIGGIN' ASS!!!!!

There you go. :o

Hm... is there any other classic anime movies/series I've got to watch? Astroboy, the first anime ever made. I've got to see.

Hmm I dunno...

what about "fist of the north star"? I've never really seen that one yet but it looks okay though

the orignal "dragonball" would proably count as classic animes, also...well can't say that I've seen many animes from the 1980s, but mostly seen some like Tenchi Muyo and Outlaw Star in the mid 1990s and early 21st century...so...I've once seen "hellsting" on action channel and thought it was friggin' awesome also

I've watched the original DragonBall movie but the subtitles stopped halfway through. Looks like whoever made it only made it for half the movie, so I haven't watched all of it yet.

Actually, they have two versions of Fist of the North Star. They made a movie version first. Later, they created a television series. (Or is it the other way around?) Anyway, I've never seen the television series, but I did see the movie and I think it's great.

Well I know a classic anime series is Evangelion, which I've got to watch. I very much enjoyed Kenshin and I'm sure that if anyone likes anime, Kenshin is the anime to see.
