Anime versus Disney

Which Tenchi did you see? They have 2 versions of the series and a couple movies. I prefer the OAV series over the other because the storyline makes more sense and Tenchi is more like himself than a complete idiot who can't do anything. They made 2 movies. The first focuses on Tenchi and his parents. The second focuses on Ryoko and someone's mysterious past.
I have 3 tenchi movies on VHS, and will plan to get them on DVD later on.

The first one was strange but still, it was great.

and the second one was about Tenchi's mysterious daughter

and the third one was pretty confusing, but yeah proably something about Ryoko trying to free herself and get tenchi back into the real world or something like that...the third one was the LONGEST of all bleh

I saw a couple of new Tenchi DVDs in media play last week..."Tenchi GXP"...something like that and it's all new and completely different...and a friend of Tenchi's is the main character of the new series...kinda strange, if you ask me. I never seen 'em yet but I want to see "pretty sammy", who plays by sasami, akeya's little sister lol it looks ssssooo hiralous

whoa that not bad price! Do you like read anime comic book don't ya? Steel just wondering *grins* that my favorite read anime comic book bec it's funny.. also I alway want buy DVD collcet called "Ranma 1/2" i noticed there abt more than 99 dollar i was like dang! I was wondering what ur favortire anime comic book?? :D

Tenchi Muyo, Love Hina, and gunsmith cats...they all kick some sw33t ass, all right :D

but I think Love Hina is the most hiralous because of some stupid kid living in a dorm with about 7 chicks and one girl who has a secret crush on him but wont admit until the end...I completely laughed my ass off on the second voulume of love hina when he went to some kind of festival and getting a fortune paper, telling him that he would have some bad luck for the entire year with a girl lol so he tried to avoid ALL of the girls but impossible since some dont trust him and some just wants him to stay and stuff lol if you never read them, I would recommend you to. ;)

Tenchi Muyo is all packed with high adventures, weird ass comedy, and heart felt drama...it's simply my most favorite in the series.

and Gunsmith cats, with one hot bounty hunter and her little side kick, who happens to be "mad" about bombs! this one is great since it gives us alittle eduacation about every gun issued in the manga, and even kick ass sports cars, like the late 1970s mustangs :thumb: and they deal with tons of dangerous crimes in IL, chicago...aaaah such great 80s moments. ^^

lol so many hiralous pics from Tenchi Muyo!

:laugh2: that funny!! Steel sure you can recommend to me.. since we are fan anime rulez  and yea i heard Tenchi Muyo is soo funny bec all 7 gurls are after one guy who from college HAHA!!. Gunsmith?? never heard this one also Love hina i haven't seen this one i think i should see it dang

I'm watching Love Hina at the moment... looks pretty hysterical after the 5th and 6th episodes... its not a bad series after all. I'm gonna finish the series so I can watch the movies. Oh, another anime I've seen is Oh My Goddess! it's not bad either. The movie - Ah My Goddess is like the series but cooler. You should watch the series BEFORE the movie though.

hmmm what do you think is the worst anime ever made?

To me, I think the worst animes that I've seen (and wanted my hours back too!)

-Tekken (based on the smash hit Playstation titles)

-Ninja scroll (still can't see why it's so friggin' good)

-Poke'mon : The first movie (and so more Poke'suckin'ass sucked ass too)

I thought Ninja Scroll was good. However, I do agree with you about the other two... they sucked. I can't believe I actually wasted my time on those movies. I was dying to see Tekken but it wasn't subtitled or captioned. Finally, it was released on DVD so I checked it out. Ugh!

well I think i've seen "tekken" on action channel and it was capitoned but didnt' really enjoy it anyway

what about "fatal fury"? I've seen half of it on sci-fi channel one time and it looks okay but it wasn't even captioned!

I hate anything to do with Pokemon. Pocket monsters indeed! Worst anime hmm... I had that listed as Love Hina but now I like it. I dunno, I think everything I've seen so far is good.

I saw Fatal Fury too. It wasn't captioned and it wasn't "great" either.

lol you aren't going to believe how many times Deaf258 says that the Lion King is a "copycat" over White Lion

=/

oh...

okay...

What's about non-Disney vs Anime?

Star Trek vs Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Treasure Planet vs Outlaw Stars
Iron Giant vs Megazine (sp) classic 60's giant robot
Monkey King vs Dragonball

Monkey King? never heard of that one...does he uses bananas as his privary powers or something? lol

and for your info, I've kinda liked Treasure Planet because it was awesome but I still like Outlaw Star better so...my vote's on Outlaw Star. :D

Because it is a FACT, dorkus!

I have many animes owned... many of my favortives:

Excel Saga-- It's such a hiraliously funny anime... it's all about the most insane girl on the face of earth, who is in love with a slightly insane guy who wants to rule the earth. A lot of werid things happens, and her best friend is an undead princess from Mars who die and reseccuts herself at random...
Classic quote of Excel's from the first epodise: "I'm so loyal to you, sire! As an maiden that loves you, I would burn, drown, strip and even throw up for you!!"
This type of anime is known as Gag Comedy. As in being full of humorous gags and stunts..

FLCL (also known as Fooly Cooly)--This one got a crazy chick too... but instead of her being the main character, is a strange junior high boy who is trying to be normal despite the fact that he has a crazy pervert for a father, an grandpa who never says much... and those giant monsters somehow being able to pop out of his forehead every time he has an headache. It's an Scifi Gag Comedy....

Magical Project S-- This is an spin off of Tenchi Muyo, where Sasami is pretty Sammy! It's very funny, and an parody of many popular Magical girl animes such as Sailor Moon. It's so amusing to see the cast of the Tenchi muyo Universe take many different roles in this series.

Tenchi Muyo-- I also love this anime... my favortive is Ryoko and the Cabbit. I wish I had her powers and that pet Cabbit, damnit....

Sailor Moon--You all proably knew I was gonna bring this up, huh? But no matter what you do, do not get the DUB verison.. it sucks, okay? The oringal verisons are much more mature as seeing it was oringally meant for teenagers. It also had metions of homosexuality in it.. with Lesbains Sailor Neptune and Uranus.. as well as a few male villians being gay, that they edited out or made just plain ridclious like where Neptune and Uranus was supposedly "Cousins".... please.

Steel Angel Kurumi-- About this young priest in training who accidently awakens an Robot girl. Now The robot girl is deeply in love with the priest, and the military and people from the future is on the poor boy's case about it... they're not happy that an 10 million project is now in the hands of an 10 year old boy. He ends up discovering that the Robot girl, Kurumi who he is starting to devlop feelings for is actually from the future... and the other unusual thing about this anime is that it's actually set in Anicent Japan when it was just starting to devlop techologlly in terms of old-fashoned cars and such..... everyone was still wearing kiminos mostly, but there was many starting to wear amemericzed clothing and such. It's very intersting. you get a little bit of Japanese history this way.

There's also a new season where Kurumi is in present day, and her new master that she's in love with is a reincercation of Naraku, the 10 year old boy.. and this time he's a GIRL! so there's plenty of lebsian inendennos...

.hack//sign-- it's about an online game in an future where Vitrual reality becomes the norm.... and we have an boy who was playing the game, only something goes wrong and both his mind and soul is now trapped in the world of the game.... and he can't get back. It's then other players start to get more intersted in the boy, when unusual events starts happening. There's also an evil deity who's using the online game for her own purposes......the first epodises are so-so but the plot and story gets more better as you progess into it.

There's also games out based on the series, where the series ends... you go on into the games for the playstation 2 to try to solve more of the mysteries that is .Hack//sign.

I also have tons of Anime movies. My recommeded ones:

Green legend Ran-- About the future where the earth is ruined, and there's all those crazy people and mutants in control. There's an rellbion group that is the good guys, a few evil rendge people... and the ones in main power who all wants to grab this mysterious sliver-haired girl who the boy named Ran just met.... because of her powers that had to do with nature. So He's off to rescuse her.. but little does he realize that he's also changing the very world's future....

Armitage the third--A kickarse cop pair, an robotic lady fighting for the surival of her kind, and crazy pyschos on an murdering ramage... got plenty of kickarse battle scenes, an plot that makes you think, and great characters. you should try to get this one!
There's also an second movie out on this... called Armitage III: dual Martix. where the Characters from the first movie was supposed to be living happily ever after, but there's somebody who's a little too obbessed with the cop lady and her powers... even going as far to send robot clones of herself to attack her own family, inducing her toddler daughter! so this time she's not just fighting for surival, she's fighting for her own family's lives.

Castle in the Sky--this is a very good movie... you should watch it. it's about this girl with mysterous powers which is connected to a floating castle that stays in the sky, supposed to be only a legend. but it's real... and she meets this boy who devlops an sort of crush on her, who wants to help her and also look for his father who disappeared while looking for the Castle in the Sky.... and all those bad guys are after those kids...

I've seen "cowboy bebop" on adult swim (part of cartoon network's late night programs) and thought it's pretty good though it is very much like the other sci-fi western style anime, "outlaw star" and I think "outlaw star" is proably better than "cowboy bebop" in my opinon but they are both pretty good though.

I've also seen "Trigun" but it wasn't capitoned and it seems kind of weird and shit so I dont think I like it that much...

and "Wolf's Rain" looks pretty good but it just got released on adult swim so that's why it wasn't even capitoned...but dammit I wanted it captioned!

Right now, I'm collecting mangas, like "Negima" the newest book on shelves, is written and drawn by the the same creator who done "Love Hina" and I think it's pretty funny but I think "Love Hina" is actually one of the best mangas I've ever read in a long time...you know, something that kind of relates to real life without characters using super powers or gaint robots or whatever like that you seen in most animes...
I've finally seen the "Love Hina" anime and I'm not really impressed by the way it is told...you know that most animes and mangas were always told in many different ways...and I dont think the "Love Hina" anime is as good as the manga is...so oh well.

Anyway, anyone's familar with "Guilty Gear"? yeah this one anime-style fighting game by Sammy studios (who will be taking over Sega), and it looks pretty cool indeed...proably tons cooler than capcom's fighting games like street fighter and dark stalkers, etc...anyway, aren't there any animes based on "Guilty Gear" yet? I know there were some animes based on "street fighter" and "dark stalkers" by Capcom already...
