Airplane Crash today and is Missing

I was having a trouble trying to find what you're talking about. At first, I thought you were talking about a rocket. found nothing.

but you said something about Chinese dismantling it so that reminds me of a reconnaissance plane that collided with Chinese fighter jet and had to land in China.

and yep... here it is - Lockheed EP-3 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

it's Aries II, not III

Yes, you are right, it was an Aries II EP-3.

I was supposed to meet George Bush in the White House during a secret service tour during that incident. He was meeting with the PM of Japan and I didn't get to meet him. I met Laura Bush and pet their dog instead. A friend of mine's grandfather had won the Easter Egg decoration contest for the State of Maine and couldn't make the trip to the White House, so he gave his tickets to us.

China detained our servicemen/women during that incident and would not release them for 2 or 3 weeks I think. They demanded an apology for intruding into their airspace.

The "real" story behind this is not well known. The EP-3 was, at the time, the most sophisticated surveillance aircraft known to man. The US had maybe .. less than a dozen of them. We had sold one of them to Israel. Israel then made a clone of it, and were in the process of selling the cloned EP-3 to China when we caught wind of the deal and put a stop to it. This enraged China ... they wanted that technology very, very badly. So, it was speculated that this whole forced landing of one of our spy planes on China's soil was a deliberate act. An act in which they dismantled it so that they could copy the technology. Unfortunately for them, the aircrew destroyed about 85% of the technology aboard the craft before it landed.

Cause of collision

Both the cause of the collision and the assignment of blame were disputed. The American government claimed that the Chinese jet bumped the wing of the larger, slower, and less maneuverable EP-3. After returning to U.S. soil, the pilot of the EP-3, Lt. Shane Osborn, was allowed to make a brief statement in which he said that the EP-3 was on autopilot and in straight-and-level flight at the time of the collision. He stated that he was just "guarding the autopilot" in his interview with Frontline.[17] The U.S. released video footage from previous missions which revealed that American reconnaissance crews had previously been intercepted by Lt. Cdr. Wang. During one such incident, he was shown approaching so close that his e-mail address could be read from a sign that he was holding up. Based on the account of Wang Wei's wingman, the Chinese government stated that the American plane "veered at a wide angle towards the Chinese", in the process ramming the J-8. This claim cannot be verified since the Chinese government refuses to release data from the black boxes of either plane, both of which are in its possession.[18][19][20][21][22]

CNN has learned that a classified analysis of electronic and satellite data suggests the flight likely crashed either in the Bay of Bengal or elsewhere in the Indian Ocean.

if it's classified.... then how did CNN know? and why is it classified?

This was posted an hour ago - the conclusion was that it was hijacked:

MH370: Missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 Jet Likely Highjacked - TIME

It's not like all the signs were obvious .... it was an obvious hijacking.

Captain Ross Aimer, an aviation consultant who was formerly an instructor for the 777, tells TIME that a pilot with “considerable skill and experience” could land the aircraft in as little as 3,000 ft (900 m). “It’s conceivable that if this was a calculated set-up they may have an old military field somewhere in the middle of some jungle,” he says. “You could even land it on a beach or small strip of land.”

So .... why would they be saying that if they still thought it had crashed?

Who? "High profile" means someone who is conspicuous and well-known. I haven't heard of any passengers being described that way.

I meant "high profile" as in valuable asset. 20 electronic warfare technicians working for a company contracted with the US DoD is a valuable asset.

My question is ... why were they all on the same plane? that's like having 20 nuclear engineers with military intel onboard.

20 Tech Geeks Working for Freescale Semiconductor on Missing Flight MH370 | The Falling Darkness

20 passengers on board the missing flight were world-class electronic Techs for a major Defense Contracting Company that specialize in such things as electronic weapons that “disappear” airplanes and ships from the battlefield. They were employed by Freescale Semiconducter which designs and manufactures cutting edge electronic weaponry for the Department of Defense. Such weaponry includes those making it possible to simply vanish planes off of radar…

Jacey Zuniga, a spokeswoman for Freescale Semiconductor, says 12 Malaysian and 8 Chinese employees are “confirmed passengers.”

Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL), is a global leader in radio frequency (RF) power transistors, in 2012 announced the availability of 11 new commercial RF power LDMOS products that can meet the requirements of U.S. defense electronics applications. This is the first set of products released as part of the company’s strategic defense initiatives for its RF power business.

In a more radical theory, the possibility of electronic warfare has also been raised following confirmation that there were at least 20 passengers onboard from Texas-based Freescale Semiconductor. Each of these passengers had specialist knowledge of electronic technology for defence applications.

most likely they're low-value. I think by now... we already know enough not to put all eggs in one basket :dunno:

but then... why hijack an entire plane for 20 people? they can just kidnap them from hotel. much more low profile that way.

I saw the malay president on press meeting say they over 90% sure it highjacked and Indonesia may be involved.
he said this the last he going to talk about it,relatives in state of limbo it must be beyond a nightmare for them the world should be angery

Why? Probably because they weren't all that valuable as assets as you seem to think. Also, they aren't the royal family, so they aren't the only scientists around. Companies do it all the time to save money.

High profile and valuable asset aren't interchangeable terms.

could you save you save your humor for another thread . I am sure the families see nothing funny about not knowing what happen to their love ones.

It's looking like the plane crew members are being investigated , that they planned the whole thing. If the plane was going off course you would the
stewards/stewardesses would notice it tried to had done something ,like use a person cell phone to try and made a call.

no humour in this at all...there babies children grandparents innocent people human life has great value..
this all been planed out to finest detail and I think malyer hiding something apart from total ineptitude

Some people deal with tragedy with humor. Nothing wrong with that if it's how they deal with tragedy. We each have our own way. Yes, I've been known to joke about bad situations, including after my husband's death.

Yes, those of us who do use humor to deal with tragedy should consider the feelings of others. But on a forum this size, you can't please everyone.
