Across country, GOP pushes photo ID at the polls

I'm not confused. You just tried to make me look like I didn't know my legal definitions when I stated I was using everyday language. So yeah. Your debate skills went sour in this thread. :)

I corrected myself...not always this alert at 10pm.

there's really no point to continue this farce especially when you're not "this alert" at this hour.

see you in the morning!

Go ahead, Jiro. Please provide proof of my "confusion" and then tell us what I was "confused" about.

Reba posted the UCIS terms.

I posted the everyday terminology.

She used one, I used the other.
She prefers one to be used in all situations. I use it in context. Again, "illegal immigrant" and "undocumented immigrant" are terms that are used in the American lexicon. You can use whatever term you want. I prefer the term "undocumented". Now, if I were an attorney writing a brief, I'd use whatever term relevant to xyz section of the law. (Like when I was in a law office, I argued that a client was disabled based on a legal definition because her disability was disputed. In the office, however, we usually just said "injured on the job".)

Translation: I can't think of a clever response, so I'll just insinuate she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Yeah, that's a very obvious move, Jiro. See ya manana!

again - I was trying to correct your reasoning and logic... not term because you seem confused.

and also - refer to my post #142.

The only "confusion" that occurred was me being confused at your sudden love for legal terminology after we'd been using everyday terms. It made no sense. It still doesn't. :wtflol: You were trying to make me look bad and the result was you contradicting yourself.

See: THE WHOLE THREAD.

So, what term do you use to describe the woman in the picture? BTW, I find this photo to be offensive.

As for the actual thread topic, I am in favor of photo ID for voting. No ID?
  • No cigarette sales
  • No alcohol sales
  • No driving a car
  • No employment
  • No gun ownership
  • Lastly, no vote

I just LOVE threads derailed by word semantics. They are the PERFECT way to make you fall asleep faster.

Frankly, I don't care about the photo ID thing. I don't think it will change anything. The only thing it will do is to add fuel to the fire (illegal immigrants) because it gives the illusion that voting by illegal immigrants is a big problem. And I am willing to bet that its not a problem AT ALL.

Hey... how much will the whole thing cost the taxpayers?

I'd be happy to show my ID but don't want to pay a dime for this.

I tend to visit here before bed. Works like magic.

Funny how the GOP is trying to reduce government involvement and expenses, but they try pushing this project. Seems a bit conflicting to me. :hmm:

I don't see the contradiction here. The GOP thinks the government should be uninvolved in a lot of things, but voting is not one of them. The costs are minimal, especially since most people already have driver's licenses or other picture IDs. I'm not sure what your beef with the GOP is here, especially since you already agree with them on the issue.

I have a beef with political parties.

The cost is reasonable. I would like to see this take effect.

Right now we have a party that is insanely criminally irresponsible and a party that is pretty irresponsible but now sorta kinda gets it maybe. Not much of a choice.

Sounds like you want a Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura ticket. :)

Boring and More Boring. This is where we part company, dude.
Yeah, who needs all that wonkish facts, numbers, and logic stuff? We need more leaders with no substance!

Although to be fair, while Daniels is famously lacking in charisma, Ryan has plenty of charisma in addition to substance. Unfortunately, he's pretty convincingly ruled out the possibility of running.

Ahem..... Daniels/Ryan
Political reality being what it is, if you have a short, bald, old guy and a tall, young guy with a full head of hair, you put the young guy at the top of the ticket. It may not be fair, but that's the way it is.

I'm first on the ticket because they always let the dumb one be President.
Between Obama and Biden, Biden's the smart one? I mean, I've never bought the narrative that Obama's a super intelligent deep thinker, but against Biden, he surely wins.

Joe Biden is a serious mother. You have no idea what you're yapping about.
