A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part III

The Chicago area is about to get slammed with a nasty thunderstorm in a few hours. I was just at a local store, and it was the busiest I had ever seen it. That, and winds are picking up, and they're saying large hail and damaging winds are to be expected, along with heavy rain. Not a pleasant way to spend the evening.

A's beat the Yankees 5-1... it was a fun day today at the ball game.

Friggin S.F. Giant's keep losing in the last inning. Last two games lost to the Rockie's at the very end. Now it is happening again.

I'm curious here. For those of you who are in school districts that have Common Core as a standard requirement, what is your opinion of it?

Very rigorous. Still undecided on whether it will be good in the long run or not. Too early to tell. I agree that our next generation need to be skilled for the future jobs and that's what the CCS is supposed to do but just so much to learn in such a short time.

Book I saw today.

Sounds like Giants are going downhill while A's are getting better. :dunno:

Yes and it's been so hard to watch. Winning all the way into the 8th-9th inning and the relief pitcher gives up the game.

I'm jumping into the baseball discussion here. The St. Louis Cardinals rotation has been pitching extremely well as of late, and tonight's spot starter fared better than I expected. With their record now, they shouldn't be in 2nd place in the Central, with the way they've been pitching, and their recent sweep of Washington.
