if i m in florida, sure it sounds like it's easy to fix.

i am living in the old village of the neighborhood where the antique houses are, like too long up in the heightened house. I need someone professionals who have good ladders. :( Therefore i am not allowing my hubby to do the job on it.

by the way, thanks. i try to drive so careful on the way back home after my work today.

I would be afraid to grow old in that house as it is too dangerous to take the responsibities on my own.

Yes we owns the around 100 years old house. :( yes thats pretty high roof.

Ok, I don't want to give advice and your hubby gets hurt but if he is capable, wait until spring and then purchase appropriate ladders. Might be cheaper than paying someone else to do it. Part of home ownership, , KWIM? :D

ha ha thats ok. I dont think he should not handle it himself that there will need more than 3 people to hold it.

He got good ladders that he can paint the house that is no problem but gutter. nope. :(

Well, I put mine up alone. If you order gutters this spring, try to get the seamless type; they are the best.

Really? Why are they the best? We need new gutters too...some of them got destroyed by the blizzards.

Ok, as for why they are the best, standard guttering comes in 10 foot sections and they have these connectors to continue the guttering beyond ten feet and ten feet thereafter and when you get near the end of the guttering , there might be, say, three feet to go, you need another spacer and then the caps on the ends. All those spacers, over time flex and stuff and start leaking.

Seamless guttering is done by a machine right inside the truck parked on your property and it turns out one seamless length of guttering.

Basically, that's it.

Is it expensive? Just trying to explore my options here..:ty:

I really couldn't say but I'm guessing it prolly is a bit more but over the long haul, its probably worth it. I will be looking into that myself in a couple of months. The bigger reason why it would cost me more is that I would not be doing any of the work. They might give me a little break on the price if I tear down the old guttering which I have already done.

I really need to get some laundry and school work done but now I am superglued to the TV and CNN newsreports of the Chilean Quake, and the threat of a Hawaiian Tsunami. I don't live in the danger zone, but it's just the fact that we are likely to see history being made live on national TV. And yes, I am a former journalism major at university and I still get the urge to want to be right in the middle of it giving updates.

Well, then,Journalady, get the stuff coming outta Japan--they had a 7.3 quake! :eek3:

My coworker picked the worst time to head for Hawaii, he should be there until next week O_O

they have likely sent all flights possible out of hiwaii by now. no more incoming flights so he may be on plane to la by now.

Yeah but it depends on when he left.

President Barack Obama will hold a press conference at 2 PM regarding the earthquake and the Hiwai'i/California Tsunami threat.

It also doesnt help that Japan's Okinawa had a 7.3 quake this morning as well.

Scuse me, MSNBC has said President will speak at any moment.

Where did you see that. I couldn't find reference?

Somebody began a thread here re this; I just don't know how to find it; I am waiting for someone to make a comment in it and then it will appear for me as "newest comment".
