I know, I was thinking the same thing when we were there but we were in a hurry to leave after, so I didn't get a chance. :(

Former Marine and Vietnam vet, lots of tats. Nice, calm guy.

Motorcyclist pulled from underneath fiery BMW speaks

Brandon Wright is the lucky young man who was plucked from beneath the potential tomb of a burning BMW that we told you about earlier this week. Wright's motorcycle collided with the German sedan and it wound up on top of him. Luckily, a group of bystanders banded together and lifted the fiery car, with another bystander then pulling Wright out of harm's way. Now recovering in a hospital, Wright has gone in front of the cameras to thank those that kept him alive.

Wright calls the men and women heroes for putting their lives on the line to save his. He states that he is "forever in debt," and that he "can't thank them enough." Wright, who wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of his crash, goes on to say that he plans to wear the protective gear from here on out.

The young motorcyclist suffered a fractured pelvis, broken leg and burns to one of his feet. Doctors say it will take Wright several months to fully recover. Click past the jump to watch the video with more of his story.

Just FYI:

With cooler weather approaching--Leatherup has chaps on sale. We just ordered a couple pair. Our ride back from Beaufort on Saturday morning was colder and windier than expected. It would have been nice to have the chaps then.

I prefer chaps to full leather pants because I don't want to be over heated at my destination. I need the extra layer for riding only, not for walking around in.

If we lived up North, it might be different.

Anybody use motorcycle tires with studs in them? On both front and back or just back, or what?

never used it but from what I read - yes they do studs for both tires but different size. Best to ask tire professional.

I could use some of those tips for tomorrow and Saturday.

I don't do well on long (to me) rides. I think my age is catching up with me

Maybe u culd put on sofa cushion on motorcycle seat so u can be comforable for long ride
