my sons main audiologist is deaf
No doubt! Maybe then they would see these kids as whole human beings instead of just defective cochleas!

The medical perspective would change if they had one of their OWN children implanted with a CI. Hoo-ey, a whole lot of perspective would change.

I have never met a professional (or parent) who sees their child as only defective cochleas. That is incredible offensive.

FJ, you do know what an energy vampire is? You purposely twist our words, misconstrue our statements to elicit problematic behaviour and provoke others.
This is proof that you are only here on this forum to stir up a hornet's nest than improving your daughter's future. Take a very good look at my comment and jillio's response to my comment.
Now take a look at your irrational statement. It'd do you very well to read & re-read statements without being emotionally involved about your own feelings.

That's an interesting phrase (the bolded). I'd not heard that before, but I get immediately what you mean by that.
Very good advice. Unfortunately, she can't see how she is coming across to others, or, she refuses to see it. One of the two.
It's a very common phrase. It simply means that someone is very draining as to cause exhaustion. I've known a few (and I've been one). It's not a fun place to be.

Right. That was what I figured out from Mrs. B's post. I think I was thinking of this already without thinking of the concept "energy vampire" when I asked FJ weeks/months back why she was even on AD -- because she contributed nothing positive, nothing in the other threads where we all chat on a daily basis and have fun. Every single post is to argue what we say, and only in specific threads, nowhere else. I guess she's NOT ALL THAT INTERESTED in the deaf community, despite what she says.
I can't know what her motive is. I just know what I see, and, it's the same as what you all see.
I'm going to do something I shouldn't and make an assumption. It seems that she feels she has something to prove; which is sad. She originally came to this forum with good intentions. Only she knows what the heck happened.
The same venom you put out?
You only reinforce our point. You have no interest in the deaf. I guess we are just "these people". You're so transparent it isn't even funny. Your total disregard of this forum and the members here, except for your opportunities to post anything argumentive, is all that is there.

Anyways..back to topic..I hope the parents of this child truly investigate the reason why their child doesn't want to wear the CI.
Nor is it healthy for those around you. You were one of the wise ones. You realized something was amiss and took steps to change it.
You have a very valid point. I've known that for some time. But professionals aren't perfect! Sometimes we engage in less than healthy behaviors, too.
She's been on my ignore list for over a month now.
You remember the topic??????????
