100-Year-Old Sex Offender About to Go Free

What about the victims that have been "sentenced" to a lifetime of recalling what happened to them? Forgive and forget? If it happened to you, things might have a whole different outlook when you read about "forgive them" and "the justice system is for rehab". How long should you harbor the feelings of anger before you move on? Ever think, the victim might need far more rehab than the criminal? Sorry, not buying the happy horseshit I am reading.
YES!!!!!! THIS! I'm sorry Posts From Hell..........but the psychological manifesations of rape and child molestations REALLY fuck up the victims. Not just PSTD......but stuff like acting out sexually, being fucked up about human realtionships etc etc etc

Darn right! It does...have a lot of bad memories myself! And I'm an older adult.

Hey, even if the guy can't get a hard-on, he still gets off on touching these kids. Will he be better served by being released? Will we?

Problem with sexual offenders, the repeat offenders that is, is that they are unable to suppress their desires. That's why putting them into prisons, then releasing them after so many years won't work. They really need to be seeing professional help during the time served and after the release.

It's like re-releasing a schizophrenic back into society after he committed a crime, and he refuse to take his medications once he's on his own. They're going to get in trouble again.

I have not experienced this personally, but have seen the results in others. The scars never fade from many of the victims, no matter how hard they try. And why should they have to have to rehab, when they were innocent?

I do notice how quiet this topic became after I vented. Not a shock to me.

Awwww, come on!....sex offenders "aren't able to suppress their desires>"??? Bull shit! There are many adults who rarely have sex, even tho' they want it...but don't go around raping children!! Rape is one word...."POWER" over the victim.

So you feel "they need professional help" because they like to go around raping and molesting children??....And the State has to pay for it???

What about the Victims?....Is the State gonna pay for their treatment?? If it's a child, then the Parents are left footing the bill!!

Casteration is one option that I would vote for! And if a law was passed, making this MANDATORY for sexual predators/child molesters.....it's my bet, we would not have so many!!!

Give them an option of Casteration...or a life sentence. Ship them all off to a secluded island....far away from the children and victims.

That's absolutely right, saywhatkid....the scars never heal, never fade....many victims commit suicide or live very depressed lives. NO fault of their own....

I can agree on that the justice system is broken... Due to the fact if a sex offender is release they are labeled for the rest of their lives and harassed by the public by having their address listed and what not.. Many are pushed to become homeless due to they basically can not live anywhere due to the strict laws on where they can or can not live. Many have set up camps.. and then are also thrown out of campsites. They can not find jobs ect.. How is it possible for the ones that does not re offend to get their lives back to normal?

The whole point of this is for other potential pedophiles to look at those that have just been released from prison and see how hard their post-incarceration lifestyle is, makes you not want to offend in the first place because it's not a matter of if they will be caught, it's when they will be caught. If we can scare people from becoming pedophiles, then we're one step closer to eradicating pedophilia altogether.

second that, i know from experience

I always believe that criminals should be shipped to an island and let them do whatever they want.

I know it's about poweer, however there is something WRONG about them in their heads if they are committing these acts in a stable society. Castration will not help because it does not erase what is mentally wrong with them. They can still commit these acts without sexual organs. Executions, lifetime sentences, expelling them are merely ignoring the problems because these people operate under the guise that they would not get caught. if we treat them as mentally ill, I wager we would have a lot less people doing these things behind the curtians. If I recall, 80 percent of sex-related crimes are unreported. That means the system we have in place is not working.

Exactly.

I have no sympathy for this man. Raping a 4 year old? Sick!

I wish all people like him would be removed from this planet so our children wont have their childhood threatened by them.

Yes exactly. They do not need garden variety prisons...........ALL that does is let them stew thinking " Oh boo hoo hoo! I'm so opressed!" Give me a fucking break! It isn't that they are attracted to a person who happens to be a little kid.............They are completely and totally fixtated on the fact that their prey is young. That's the only thing that turns them on....and they are just so stunted emotionally that they don't realize that a little kid does not have the emotional maurity to consent. Even many young teens don't have the emotional maurity to consent.........god even many older teens don't.

I see what some of the comments are getting at; what we do now seems to have little effect. I could just as easily say the same about theft, murder, or assault. I have never seen anything keep these predators away from potential victims better than steel bars and barbwire. How do you propose to fix this, if you don't think prison is working?

After all is said and done, it is the victim that should be the object of our concern, not the criminal. The criminal makes a choice for both themself and their victims. The victim is the one that has no choice, especially our youngest citizens.

They still should go through the penal system. The only thing is that... we shouldn't just punish and leave it at that and expecting things to remedy themselves.

Right now I am cringing at the "pay for your own stay" penal system because those people are going to be poor as dirt when they come out... and are going to resort to frauds and theft to pay those bills.

I agree with the first part 100%. There needs to be some type of treatment to keep them from repeating.
As for the pay as you stay, an interesting concept. I would rather have them perform some menial labor that can make the prison some money, such as farming. Lots of prisoners are incarcerated for committing frauds and theft already.

I'm all for "pay for your own stay"....to some of these criminals, it's like the Holiday Inn!

To be more blunt....if they had not committed crimes to begin with, they would not be in jail/prison.....why should law-abiding citizerns be expected to pay for these scum??....Some of them are allowed to work in prison, and their pay is for their stay! I like that!....

Same thing for juveniles....if they are arrested and placed in detention....the parents are responsible to pay the bill, and for their probation if they are sentenced to a probationary period of time....Duval County is one county that does this and it's where I live.
