Surely, we can do something for people of lesser crimes but murder? No. Life for life, meaning that they will NEVER get a chance to be free. Ever.

I'm just saying that we can be forgiving. As a nation if we forgive, work together and be just downright friendly, we can lower our prison expenses and have a better civilization.

It works for Norway, Sweden and a couple of other countries. I don't see why it can't here.

I know I don't want to pay taxes for someone's life sentence if they're not going to be a productive member of society. Rehabs, yes.
 
Forgiving?? Ever been to a rape crisis center? Ever really talked to someone who has been raped and left for dead? Ever had your child raped by a grown man? Or someone in ur family who has? Or....even urself, been raped repeatedly, beat, tortured and left for dead?....Maybe even buried alive, as one raptist did here in Jacksonville after he raped the child repeatedly, beat and starved her and buried her alive! He was EXECUTED! Thank God for that!

Calm down.

He didn't means we're going to spoon-feed them. Just don't put them in a position where they are compelled to make the same decision again. People with criminal records are likely to be repeat offenders because they are unable to find a job or are unable to relocate. Restrictions on where ex-convicts are allowed to live also shift them to live in places where they fall back into their old lifestyle.

Regarding pedophiles, they should be treated as mentally-ill people who should serve time, not as hardened criminals.

You do not know what I've seen, where I've come from.
I can say, forgiveness is possible. For some, it is not.
But that's fine, each of us are entitled to our opinions.

Just think about it - If you were a victim and you TRULY forgave the person, you will feel better about yourself as opposed to being a victim and drown in the sorrows.

I do agree on that the violation is very bad and should never happen.
 
I think I agree with PFH. Forgiveness is the best weapon one can have. And here's something one can think about a bit for today.

Right, and you've never walked a mile in my shoes, either! And being a victim is never forgetting the "face" and the horror endured!....No matter how much time goes by....the pain will soften a little, but will never escape ur memory!....Again, child molesters/sexual predators are not of the Human race, they are animals who prey upon children and leave them with horror all their lives, destroying their innocence, and most times, their whole lives. It's just a few who are able to "go own", but the memory is still there.

They are scum of the earth and should be treated as such....who really cares if they're forced to live in the woods (as Georgia has made them)....ship them off to an secluded Island and let them rape and molest each other!

I can agree on that the justice system is broken... Due to the fact if a sex offender is release they are labeled for the rest of their lives and harassed by the public by having their address listed and what not.. Many are pushed to become homeless due to they basically can not live anywhere due to the strict laws on where they can or can not live. Many have set up camps.. and then are also thrown out of campsites. They can not find jobs ect.. How is it possible for the ones that does not re offend to get their lives back to normal?
 
Yeah, thats Megan's law. I think it is somewhat too far.

It is an overkill... I agree that sex offenders have served their time and do need to be supervised upon being release.. but the law is so strict that why even bother to even release them back out into society when they can not even live in society.

Sorry but if you have a chronic offender he NEEDS to be put in one of those hospitals for the criminally insane, until he is dead. He STILL doesn't understand what he did was wrong?!?! He is still very emotionally stunted/sociopathic. He hasn't mellowed at ALL!
Postsfromhell............I agree with you mostly......Most folks with a criminal record shouldn't be saddled with a record like this. But, while pedos are more likely to stay straight, compared to other criminals they are more likely to be rearrested for the same offense.
Meaning there are quite a few dangerous pedos out there.
I think they need to be put in hoisptials for the criminally insane. If it is 100% positive that they offended (and they're not just victims of hearing people drama) they need to be put in a treatment program, and not let out unless every one has agreed that they post little to no harm.
 
At what point do we decide, screw rehabilitation; let's punish the bastards for these crimes, perhaps as a deterrent to the next creep?
 
Hey, even if the guy can't get a hard-on, he still gets off on touching these kids. Will he be better served by being released? Will we?

What about the victims that have been "sentenced" to a lifetime of recalling what happened to them? Forgive and forget? If it happened to you, things might have a whole different outlook when you read about "forgive them" and "the justice system is for rehab". How long should you harbor the feelings of anger before you move on? Ever think, the victim might need far more rehab than the criminal? Sorry, not buying the happy horseshit I am reading.
