It seems to me that y'all are talking more about wanting or not wanting social interaction, rather than simply deteriorating social skills. For what it's worth, I make a point to get dressed and made up, hair done, nails done every day. That way I'm ready for anything. Makes it a lot easier...

I always went straight to the shower, and stayed in long enough to be really decadent. I still do that, even if I've just been away for a short time. It is kind of my way to "close the door" on the day and tell myself it's time for "me" time. And don't get me started on the spa treatments...

In high school, my Spanish teacher told the class to NOT start on the homework in class. I thought she said TO start the homework. She got mad and commenced to yelling...really tore me up one side and down the other. I was mortified. I never did become any good at Spanish in her...

I have had a horrible case of the flu for about 2 weeks now. No HA's due to sinus congestion and earaches. A friend called me on the phone. This is a guy who is hard for me to understand on a good day with HA's. Because I have been flat on the couch, I didn't suggest that I call him back...

I am SOOO guilty of this! I don't do it all the time, though....mainly when I don't really care. In my work I have to listen to every word. At the end of the day, I'm like, "I'm tired of listening. Hearing aids out."

I am HOH, and can lipread in both English and Spanish. (Incidentally, I am trying to learn a little Chinese due to a recent marriage in my family, but I'm finding lipreading really hard in Chinese.) Since I got my new HA's, I am more confident speaking Spanish than I was before.....

It came naturally to me too. I can lip read in English and Spanish. Since I've gotten hearing aids, I've been much more comfortable speaking Spanish....
