Whoa.. chinese ppls aren't help poor little girl? **Graphic content**

They were rhetorical questions. I get that human decency is one of the first things to go when it comes down to "me or them". I guess I'm just saying it's sad and scary that we (humans) aren't better than that.

we = civilized people do this out of fear of legal repercussion. sad.

i went to venezuela. sad, venesuela is the third world coutnry. I saw so many weak houses with no windows. one time I saw the house with no doors or windows. i thought no one is in there. I was dead wrong! I found a little boy that must be 4 or 5 years old. He got scared when my friends and I came into the empty house. saw him sitting down and hiding in the corner. it broke my heart. I had to leave the house right away. I went to the downtown where it is a "city". Lots of small apartments that have tons of bars on the windows and doors. I learned the hard lesson that there were couples of times that had happened. I plan not to go to any where that have the third world country. its too risk!

This is a very complicated matter.
One would need to read and understand history of China and then understand what communism is and it what does it do to people's mind and morale.
Both of these turn peoples heart cold.

In old China, people had 8, 9, 11 children easily in the family. Children kept dying of poverty (hunger), so for survival
making new kids that would support old parents was vital.
Now, boys were valued more, of course, for for the girls families had to pay dowry which ruined them.

Human life was hence often worthless,

and looks like still is, especially girls.
All told in a great nutshell.

not really.

Bystander Effect. that's all there it is to it. Happens in America all the time too.

Chance is... you saw something and you did nothing about it. nothing to be ashamed about it. happens to all of us.

not really.
Well, have you ever read any books or articles that contained pieces about actual China history? because I did some.

I am not saying that here in America this would not have happened, it most certainly could, too, I agree - and it happens, yes.

Sick people die in the very hospitals while the janitor mopes the blood around them, remember that poor woman years ago?

And maybe I didn't expressed myself the best way. What I meant is China was affected by enormous disaster after another.
First it was the empire with very extreme rich and poor system, there were people who had too much and those who dying of hunger
one next to other,
then the famous terrible famine, then the communism. They survived tragedies like very few others could bear.

In olden times, a starving family had to sell the daughters to help survive the remaining family members especially sons because males had more chances to get jobs and weren't expected to bring dowry on the contrary they would bring them. On one hand I am sure it wasn't easy to sell your blood and flesh on the other you couldn't get too attached if you knew it was gonna happen.
And the great famine? thousands were dying daily, thousands of corpses lying by the roadsides one beside another.
5,000 DIE DAILY BY CHINESE FAMINE - Graves Rifled of Bodies -- Parents Exchange Children to be Eaten. CORPSES LIE BY ROADSIDE Relief Funds Nearing Exhaustion -- $1 Will Save a Life Until the Harvest -- $10,000,000 Needed. - Article - NYTimes.com

It leaves some imprint.

Chinese people HAD TO be tough as nails to survive.

And now, since there is still the communist system active you have no idea what is it like. You can be falsely accused of anything,
and nothing is gonna save you.

I certainly can believe people could have been afraid being held responsible for trying to save that girl life, and then being punished for that.
yeah, it's possible in this twisted communist system of lies and manipulation and total power of the government.

Were you born in America though? Idk Chinese morality is different from our morality here. They don't value children/life in general in China the way we do here.

no

Idk Chinese morality is different from our morality here. They don't value children/life in general in China the way we do here.
incorrect. Chinese government and Chinese people are different. That's why China has gone thru hundreds of violent revolutions to fight for better life.

and FYI - take a look at America. over 1,000 American women died per year to domestic violence. The number of deaths died to domestic violence outnumbers the number of American casualty during Iraq war during that same time frame.

and I would question American's sense of morality when American corporations moved their factories to China. Ever seen their working condition and safety?

Here's a well known similar case that happened in western China a few years back. It's been widely received across the world now, and is not fake. The man's name is Peng Shulin. I refrained from posting until now, since it is a similar topic.

He is doing a lot better now though. Last I remember reading on the news, he has a supermarket chain now.

Ok, maybe I am wrong, I don't know.

There was a public outcry over what has happened, and maybe it was an isolated occurrence.
It is easy to get angry over what has happened and start pointing fingers,
and I guess I did that.

There is however a matter of the fact that harsh life does make people
less compassionate toward others. It's true.

Started to type a response and in the middle of typing it was lost. I will not go back and do it again. I just don't think AudioFuzzy's comment: There is however a matter of the fact that harsh life does make people less compassionate toward others. It's true. is totally true. It may be that way in some areas, but at least not in all.

I saw this not too long ago. I was horrified. In my search for answers as to WHY this would happen, I discovered that the most likely reason was because there have been several cases in China where a good samaritan helped someone and ended up being responsible for the medical bills of the person they helped. Now I don't understand why in the world any judicial system would hold someone who helped someone else responsible for their bills, but apparently it's not uncommon in China. So now stuff like this happens. So sad.

I am wondering about the first born child who was kidnapped while the parents were distraught over losing their only child. Years ago, they do have many children in the family but the law has changed to make only one child per family because of the overpopulation in China. There has been much kidnapping with only child and that hurt a lot. I could see that the 2 year old child is a girl and the driver don't want the girl there at all. Many men in all countries don't want girls or women so there have been killings so much that it is scary. We have many other native women get murdered here in Canada and United States too. Why are men being so abusive and want to murder women for the pleasure of being powerful and controlling over them? It has sicken me very much about the men's treatment toward girls and women. It might be the same with handicapped people who were abused and mistreated. In Europe and other countries like Asia had never learn to nurture children especially girls and being treated with respect to women. I am very hurt and sad about all this happening to human life. :(
