Which country would seize when United States of America collapses?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't our MOAB called the Daisy Cutter?
What do the Russians call their FOAB, Cute Little Puppies?
And dang, Jiro, your cavalier attitude towards nuclear explosions frightens me, lol. I understand that if a small nuclear weapon detonates over Nebraska, the whole country's communication system would be paralyzed by the EMPs (electro-magnetic pulses).

Yeah, more likely it will happen in the near future. I hope that I will die from old age before it happens. I just don't want to SEE it when it happens. Ain't pretty to see. :ugh2:

lol I'm just being realistic. No country is that insane enough to launch a nuclear strike. Sure Iran talks big and haughty but they ain't that crazy to go into nuke war against USA. That's why I said nuke war is so 50's.

What I'm mostly concerned about is the terrorists and their dirty bomb. But the dirty bomb with nuke is extremely extremely extremely difficult to succeed because it is not very mobile nor safe. The suicide bomber would die of radiation. It's so easy to detect radiation before they even get to the target. and... it's nearly impossible to steal the amount of nuke enough to cause devastation. Nuke is OUT.

Biological/chemical warfare is IN. All you need is one tiny aerosol can and then release it in middle of crowdy movie theater.

I hear the cheapest route is to purchase a massive number of smoke alarms - assuming they know how to extract the miniscule radioactive element in the device. They ought to know by now that if they pull it off, they will be FUBAR'ed!

Sighhh... I am more concerned about Israel with their hundreds of nuclear weapons, but never mind.

oh btw - MOAB is the descendant of Daisy Cutter and no the nuke does not paralyze whole country's communication system unless that communication center which controls whole system is destroyed.

Are you sure? I thought EMPs destroy computer circuits...And I agree about biological/chemical warfare. I could SWEAR about 20 years ago, a guy got caught preparing to release nerve gas through his car's exhaust pipe while driving around somewhere near New York. I cannot find it anywhere on google, weird. Do you or anyone know of that?

Sounds bogus. 1) The stuff is difficult to make. 2) The car's combustion from the muffler makes a bad method of delivery. It would have to be blown high in the air so it can precipitate down and affect people. and 3) you will need a high concentration of it. Otherwise, no different than inhaling insecticide fogger after it clears up!

yes EMP does destroy electrical circuits but you were saying that a nuke blast in Nebraska would knock out WHOLE country's communication system... which is not possible. EMP has a limited blast range and it's very easy to protect against that.... with Faraday Cage... I have heard that the government's vital equipment is designed to protect against EMP.

releasing nerve gas thru exhaust pipe is clearly an epic fail! Nerve Gas is destroyed by combustive process.

i heard of that nerve gas via exhaust pipe story years ago. always thought it was nothing more than a hoax or urban legend

Hmmm, a few minutes ago I googled "nuke blast over nebraska emps" and this was one of the results...
WSJ: Mother of All Blackouts
I wouldn't underestimate the nightmarish powers of nuclear detonations. :eek3:

eh nothing to worry about.

An EMP attack occurs when an enemy sets off a nuclear explosion high in the Earth's atmosphere. The electromagnetic pulse generated by the blast destroys the electronics and satellites in its field of vision. For a detonation above the Midwest, that could mean the entire continental U.S.

This article talks about an attack by a NATION.... not terrorist. Think about it - how the hell would terrorist have an ability to detonate EMP high in the atmosphere? and.... this article was published in 2004. The time has changed. and you do not need nuclear warhead to set off EMP.

Some notes:

EMP's have limited range. However, if several nukes are detonated over dispersed areas, the cumulative disruption of communications would be immense.

If a foreign nuclear power sends its missiles to the USA, it will send many at one time, not just one.

American military bases and ships have EMP shielding. Their communications are protected (not 100% but enough). Their weapons systems are shielded (protected).

Civilian communications and industry would be a mess. Life would become very primitive.

To put it closer to home, think about life without cell phones, video phones, computers, TV, HA and CI, street lights, house lights, heat, AC, refrigeration, cars, buses, subways, planes, trash pick up, sewer service, tap water, ATM's, credit or debit cards, iPods, school, hospitals, medicine refills, 9-1-1, or most jobs.

which goes back to M.A.D. :cool2: Nothing to worry about, folks... nothing to worry about

As long as all parties have a rational sense of self preservation.

Like in pioneer days ?

Worse. People a few centuries ago had their communities set up for their level of technology, so they were prepared for that way of life. Modern people are not prepared.

Our infrastructure and communities aren't designed for primitive living. People living on family-run farms and ranches might be OK but that's a small percentage of the American population. The Amish people might do OK.

For example: Two hundred years ago people didn't live in high-rise apartments that require elevators and air conditioning. They didn't build their homes any taller than they could climb the stairs. What would people in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and LA do?

yes. the non-electronic age.

Oh, wow... I would imagine it. It's tough. Use the woods to make fire like you rub it to spark a little fire and then find somethin' to add that little fire to make it more fire. We go back to " hard work with our hands " -- no more dependable on techincal things, except our talents and skills what we know how to make things.

lol... nah. our allied nations (especially Mexico and Canada) will send equipment and supplies to rebuild our infrastructure. of course... our military has supplies to restore vital infrastructure. no biggie :cool2:

major inconvenience? yes
major disaster? no

Ah, I get the pictures. Wow. It's pretty tough.

exactly why i'm thinking of moving to move to PA. I better make friends with Amish people, eh? :laugh2:

no really... more like owning a retreat property/house in PA cuz i prefer living in metro area.
