I'll have roast beef mixed with mayo, horseradish sauce and country mustard with sesame sandwich bun, salad and milk.

I prepared a simple meal of pork chops, rice & gravy and garlic mashed potatoes, fruit cocktail and sweet tea. Tomorrow we will BBQ outside, weather permitting.

Is there a Deaf food bank? The local Deaf Church here has one.

Not here in Jax, to my knowledge....some Churches give out free bread and the lines are verrrrrry long!....

We all know food is so expensive, and my family does not waste it and we don't eat extravagant. I always buy several packs of hot dogs in case we run low on meat before grocery shopping, fix 'em with mac & cheese...the boys love that.

Well, this was family dinner night and I was so lazy. I made a box of frozen lasagna, a bag of salad and a boxed cake with store bought ice cream.
....they loved it.
....wait....have I been doing this all wrong....cooking from scratch all these years???
Those kids! argh I am happy they liked it though.

My boys would have loved it, too...(even I)....Every day, in and out...3 words are spoken..."What's for dinner?"..and I "scramble in there" and get to cooking....
One of my boys has taken a keen interest in cooking, much to my delight! Only problem is, he's a "taster" of anything he cooks! (He eats so much of it before it gets to the table)...:giggle:...
And my system of "cleaning up as you go"....goes out the window whenever he's cooking...the kitchen is totally wrecked when he's done.

Tonight we will be having conch fritter and Bahamian rice. I will fix daughter her mac & cheese with a few slices of lunchmeat.

I'm currently eating some kind of lasagna. It's not made with the regular pasta. Instead, it has been made with noodles.

@Rockin Robin All of our 5 kids are grown and gone. The 4 who live nearby and their families come over every Saturday night. It is pretty wonderful. I just cant believe that they liked box food. Wheee!! My oldest son went to culinary arts school in PA. The youngest daughter took culinary arts in high school and won letters. The older daughter is a barbecue wiz and the middle boy can whip up anything that he has ever tasted exept pastry. The youngest son makes enough money that he just does not cook. He does request quite a bit of his favorites when he comes over. So you can see why I am surprised that I could slide by on store bought food. Yippee!!!

Oh, back to the topic... Tonight my husband and I had lemon roast chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, tossed salad and flan. We love flan.

If the rain ever stops, I hope to be grilling Italian sausage and a pan of potatoes and onions. If the rain does not stop, there's always the oven and stove.

My AC broke down so I'm going to TGIF resturant. It's too damn hot to cook. It's like 95 degrees inside.

Well - the rain cooperated a little. Since I had to do more sausage than planned, I did the potatoes & onions inside and the sausage on the grill. Half way through, it started to rain, but I pulled the grill into the carport. It has 3 open sides and was far enough away from MIL's car. I also did not have any flare-ups.

MIL had never had the sausage or my oven roasted potatoes and was really pleased with it all. She has decided that she may let me cook for her more often.

Homemade cheese garlic bread with pesto pasta and sweet/hot Italian sausages.

I'm thawing out chicken and saugage gumbo and I'll be having it over rice along with a glass of milk.

I had a hot dog, raspberry torte, and sparkling limeade. :)

Wirelessly posted

BBQ chicken, steamed vegetables with two slices of garlic bread.
