What's going on in the schools? Unbelievable….

Learning about other religions is one thing. Practicing them is something else.

Do kids copy other religions' practices in school?

They didn't set up a school where the kids were drilled in the Qu'ran and learned about the Five Pillars They learned about ONE ASPECT of Islam. Would you be as upset/concerned if that day had been devoted to a particular aspect of Christianity? No you wouldn't. They simply learned about ONE aspect of Islam, how Muslims wear a headcovering.

We weren't taught that. We were taught that the Communist philosophy of religion in the Soviet Union was atheism, which was correct. It was very clearly explained to us that Russians and the Soviet Union were not interchangeable. It's true that most people in the Soviet Union were Russian but not all of them, and not all Russians lived in the Soviet Union.

When the Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991, it's population was 293 million and of those 293 million 137 million were Russians, the rest were made up of over 100 different nationalities.

They didn't learn about it. They participated in it.

I wouldn't mind my kid learning about Catholic communion but I wouldn't want her to participate in it.

As a Baptist, I don't want non-Baptist kids in a public school going thru mock baptisms, either.

Do you have a more direct link?

Try googling religious tolerance. org and see what you get. To narrow it down, religion and prayer in U.S. public schools. If that doesn't work I can try a cut and paste and post it here.
